If you've been playing Dark Souls 3 for as long as I have, which is to say too bloody much, you're most likely well aware that poise is nearly useless. It doesn't matter if you're wearing the heaviest armor in the game and are attempting to swing a giant piece of rock tied to a stick - the moment a half naked hollow touches you with his fists your gigantic mace swing will be interrupted, and your character will recoil in pain.
Thankfully, the upcoming Patch 1.08 is not only rebalancing many of the spells and abilities, but is also greatly improving the efficiency of poise for heavy armor and weapons. There are unfortunately no exact numbers to share just yet, but we're currently at a point where literally any improvement is a meaningful one, so bring it on! As for the update itself, here are the full patch notes:

Total War: Warhammer's previous DLCs brought with them massive units and monstrous infantry, so its about time the little guys got a bit love as well. Though I wouldn't actually go and call them little in front of their face... let's just say it wouldn't end well. As you can probably expect, I am talking about the revenge-driven Dwarfs and the practically insane Goblins.
So if you're a fan of either the Dwarfs or the Greenskins you'll be glad to hear that Total War: Warhammer's second Lords Pack 'The King & The Warlord' brings with it two new Legendary Lords along with their own specific quests and items, a whole bunch of new units and unit variations, battle maps, and even a couple of new Lord types. What exactly these new units look like in action, you can find out by checking out the recent gameplay trailer:

[Update]: Red Dead Redemption 2 has been officially announced!
Three years have passed since GTA V first appeared, and ever since then Rockstar has been completely silent about their future projects. While the silent treatment is still ongoing, the Rockstart Twitter account just recently started posting some rather intriguing images.
What exactly these images are, Rockstar didn't explain, but I think its fairly safe to assume that they are teasing some sort of Red Dead Redemption announcement. Why else would they be entirely red and quite obviously western themed?

You have to hand it to Square Enix, they've taken a game that absolutely everybody hated and turned it into one of the finest MMORPGs out there - one that has continued to improve ever since. After already being bolstered through the rather hefty Heavensward expansion, it appears that Final Fantasy 14 is going to become even bigger in the future as Square Enix has just announced a brand new (and massive) expansion titled Stormblood!
If you're wondering what marvels such an ominous name might hold, I'm afraid the teaser trailer won't really satisfy your curiosity, but if you're up watching some exceptionally beautiful scenery and two characters attempt to beat each other into a pulp - then you're probably going to leave with a smile on your face. When it comes to modern remasters of ancient games, Nightdive Studios are truly masters of their craft. Their versions of System Shock and Turok sport greatly improved graphics, support for modern resolutions and 60 FPS, much better mouse aiming, and to top it all off, a variety of gameplay fixes that only serve to add to the game's charm. In short, they've made already great games even better!
Why am I telling you all of this? Well, its because Nightdive Studios just recently announced that they are tackling one of my favorite classic FPS games - Turok 2: Seeds of Evil! Here's the brief, albeit rather exciting announcement message:

[Update]: Forza Horizon 3 will be going away for good this September 27, 2020.
Forza Horizon 3 released a little while back to some pretty damn good reviews, but as is standard with AAA games these days it also came with a whole slew of performance issues. There were continuous crashes on certain PC configurations, the FPS was inconsistent across the board, some of the textures had a strange flickering issue, and overall the whole thing was a bit of a mess.
Thankfully, the developers released numerous patches over the past few weeks and have already managed to address the majority of these issues, with the most recent patch serving as a breakthrough for those that still had to deal with drastic FPS drops and seemingly random crashes. If you're interested in all of the specifics, as well as some of the XP changes that came along with this update, here are the patch notes:

If you've managed to complete nearly everything World of Warcraft: Legion has on offer right now and are starving for even more content, worry not, there are more challenges coming in the near future. "How near?", you might ask. Well, during the most recent Q&A Blizzard has announced that Patch 7.1 - Return to Kharazan will be arriving on October 25th, so pretty damn near!
What this means is that you will soon have a five-man version of Kharazan to explore, a whole bunch of new quests located in Suramar, and even a brand new mini-raid to bridge the gap between The Emerald Nightmare and the upcoming Nighthold. If you're wondering what all of this might look like, wonder no more as Blizzard also released a teaser trailer showcasing the new features coming in with Patch 7.1. Have a look:

After revamping the entirety of Nuke, another classic Counter-Strike map, Valve has apparently set their sights on Inferno as their next renovation project. And as you can probably guess from the title, they've already released their first (beta) version of the new and improved Inferno!
While I've only played it for a short time in a rather non-serious match, I have to say that I am genuinely impressed with their work here. The new Inferno is not only much prettier, but its also much easier to spot your enemies, so you can spend more time playing the game and less time playing 'Where's Waldo?' with a guy wearing purely black clothes and hiding in a shadowy corner. Just have a look at some of these changes, you'll see what I mean:

We're currently around two years after the original launch of Endless Legend and Amplitude's 4X strategy game is still showing no signs of stopping. If anything, it seems to be picking up its pace given that the previous Shifters expansion released back in April, and already we have a brand new one in the form of Tempest.
So what does Tempest bring with it? To put it simply: naval warfare, Morgawr - a brand new race of demonic beasts that come from the abyssal depths, and as you can probably guess from its name alone, a comprehensive weather system. While there is no gameplay trailer to showcase all of these new mechanics, Amplitude did recently post a rather intriguing lore orientated video. Have a look:

If you feel like your life needs more random decapitations and hundreds of people screaming battlecries for absolutely no reason, then you're in luck as Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is free on Steam for this weekend. Simply head on over to Chivalry's Steam page, press the giant green button that says Play Now, and have fun for the next two days!
However, if you've never actually paid any attention to Chivalry and you're now wondering what in the world is it even about, here's the relatively old (but still pretty informative) launch trailer:
