Total War: Warhammer's Archeon the Everchosen

While its not $12 like in the recent Humble Monthly bundle, Total War: Warhammer is currently on a 50% discount on Steam. Additionally, every single piece of DLC besides the Realm of the Wood Elves is on a 25% discount.

The sale will only last until March 20th, so if you're planning to grab Total War: Warhammer or any of its DLC make sure to do it as soon as possible, lest you forget. As for whether any of it is worth your time and money, that I cannot answer for you, but I can give you my opinion in the shape of review I did a little while back. If you're just interested in the short version, however, here it is:

Star Citizen level design - early phase

If you enjoy peeking behind the curtain in order to see how games are made, today is your lucky day. As a part of their "Around the Verse" series Star Citizen devs have released a detailed video going over how exactly they design levels.

The video is fairly lengthy, totaling at around 31 minutes, but it is definitely worth a watch if you're interested in the more technical aspects of video game development. But enough yapping from me, here's the video itself:

Nier: Automata Valve-themed cosmetic goggles

NieR: Automata launched for the PlayStation 4 back on March 10th, and after a brief delay it has now finally made its way to the PC as well. But rather than simply releasing their game like 'normal people' the developers have decided to take things a bit further by creating a special cosmetic items just for this occasion - a pair of red valve goggles!

Silly little cosmetics aside, if you're wondering what NieR: Automata is even all about you'll find its most recent trailer down below. It briefly goes over the story, gameplay, and some of the environments you'll get to mess around with it, so it should hopefully give you at least a bit of an idea of what to expect. Have a look:

Hearthstone artwork for a tar-dinosaur

During the most recent Murloc Tinyfin genocide, also known as the official Hearthstone stream, Blizzard has finally revealed a new batch of cards coming with the upcoming Journey to Un'Goro expansion. And unlike the previous reveal this one actually brought with it some interesting cards, including yet another legendary to support the long-awaited Control Hunter archetype.

As is tradition Blizzard is being incredibly slow with updating their official website and Facebook page with all of the newly revealed cards, so if you're interested in the new additions I would recommend heading over to Reddit instead. If you don't feel like digging through all of the cards, however, here's a few of my favorites to at least give you a taste of what's to come:

Lucio from Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch crossover

Lucio has always been a problematic hero in Overwatch. His speed boost is pretty much the most impactful basic ability in the entire game, so you almost always feel obligated to pick him, and yet very few people actually want to play him given his rather boring playstyle. Well, if the latest PTR update is any judge, Blizzard is now working on correcting this little issue by making Lucio less of a speed-bot and more of an actual hero.

The update has also brought with it some much needed changes to Assault (2CP) maps that are going to make draws nearly impossible, as well as a brand new tunnel on the first point of Eichenwalde in order to give the offense more options. Since the patch notes aren't terribly large, here they are in full:

Prey screenshot showing a variety of mimic aliens

After a whole bunch of short teasers and tiny gameplay previews Bethesda has finally released a rather significant amount of pure gameplay footage for Prey. The video features Prey's intro sequence, a bunch of exploration, the first appearance of the Typhon aliens, and naturally, a whole bunch of combat as well.

So if you're interested in seeing what Prey is all about make sure to check out the video down below. Before you do, however, just bear in mind that there will be spoilers given that this is straight up gameplay footage from the very beginning. Anyway, here's the video:

Sonic Mania screenshot of Tails in action

Sonic Mania is a brand new 2D Sonic game heavily inspired by the original classics. Once it arrives this summer it will bring with it remixed classic levels alongside new zones, new gameplay mechanics and skills in order to keep the gameplay as fast-paced as possible, and three playable characters to mess around with: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.

If you're up for a brief preview that showcases pretty much all of that, look no further than the video down below. It features the Flying Battery Zone from Sonic 3 and Knuckles, as well as a couple of scenes with each of the three characters, which means this is the first reveal of the new and improved Knuckles! Have a look:

Crypt of the NecroDancer: Amplified official artwork

Crypt of the NecroDancer: Amplified is a DLC prequel for the rhythm-based roguelike that brings with it a brand new zone full of dangerous enemies, pet-like familiars that fight by your side, as well as a whole bunch of new weapons, armor, and bosses to toy around with. The expansion also launched with a brand new character named Nocturna, and the promise that more characters are coming in the future.

As you can probably guess from the title, the first of these new characters called "Diamond" has now been added to Crypt of the NecroDancer: Amplified along with a modabble hard mode. If you're interested in all of the patch notes you can find what you seek on Steam, but if you're just interested in the short version here's everything concerning the new character and hard mode:

Artwork for Chronos from LawBreakers

LawBreakers is CliffyB's upcoming FPS with a rather casual relationship with physics and common sense. The end result is a fast-paced arena shooter that features some unique mobility options, seemingly overpowered weapons, and plenty of ways to humiliate and outplay your opponents.

If this sounds like something you might enjoy you'll be glad to hear that the closed beta has now begun. While I'm not sure if there are going to be any more invites sent out, you might as well sign up on the official website and see how your luck fares you. The closed beta event will last until March 19th, so you have plenty of chances to get in, provided the keys are indeed being sent out.

Prey screenshot showcasing the various Typhon aliens

The enemies in Prey are not your usual bunch of sci-fi bad guys. Instead of mustache-twirling villains or faceless goons with laser rifles most of the things you'll be facing off against defy any sort of classification. They're either floating balls of darkness, humanoid shadows that are able to cross wast distances within a single blink, and apparently a whole bunch of shapeshifters as well.

If you're interested in learning what these Typhon aliens are really like you'll find the recently posted trailer down below. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it does showcase some of the more intriguing parts of Prey's lore. Have a look:
