Crypt of the NecroDancer: Amplified official artwork cover

Crypt of the NecroDancer: Amplified, a DLC prequel for the rhythm-based roguelike Crypt of the NecroDancer, has now arrived to Steam Early Access. It brings with it a brand new zone full of dangerous enemies, pet-like familiars that stay by your side and help you fight, as well as a new playable character by the name of Nocturna. There's also a whole bunch of new story cutscenes, soundtracks, weapons, armor, bosses, and other such features.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in action, here's the recently posted trailer showcasing Nocturna, the new levels, as well as a couple of the new music tracks. Have a look, and more importantly, a listen:

Since this is Early Access we're talking about, it is important to mention that Crypt of the NecroDancer: Amplified is currently unfinished. The developers are still planning to add new playable characters, gameplay modes, items, story cutscenes, as well as Nocturna's final boss battles. As for how long this will take, the developers are currently estimating a minimum of two months, with the potential for further delays down the line in order to implement an even newer batch of features. But thankfully, from what I've seen in the Steam reviews it appears that the current version is polished enough to be a great deal of fun regardless of the missing content.

And finally, if you haven't already played Crypt of the NecroDancer you're in luck as its on rather steep discount on Steam for the next 24 hours. So if you harbor even a bit of interest in a rhythm-based roguelike, you should definitely give it a look. Enjoy, and here's a couple of images from the Amplified DLC:
