After a whole bunch of short teasers and tiny gameplay previews Bethesda has finally released a rather significant amount of pure gameplay footage for Prey. The video features Prey's intro sequence, a bunch of exploration, the first appearance of the Typhon aliens, and naturally, a whole bunch of combat as well.

So if you're interested in seeing what Prey is all about make sure to check out the video down below. Before you do, however, just bear in mind that there will be spoilers given that this is straight up gameplay footage from the very beginning. Anyway, here's the video:

While it appears that Prey is going to be much more 'video gamey' and a lot less focused on atmosphere like I first thought, I can't say I hate the direction the developers are taking it in. The combat seems enjoyable and the Typhon aliens are quite alien indeed, so hopefully the ridiculous weaponry and special powers will be able to carry the whole experience.

Whether my optimism is justified or not, we'll find out soon enough as Prey is set to arrive to PC and consoles on May 5th. If you would like to learn more, or just check out some more gameplay videos, I would suggest heading over to either Steam or the official website.
