World of Warcraft: Dragonflight artwork for the new zone in Embers of Neltharion update

[Update #2]: Patch 10.1 - Embers of Neltharion has now been unleashed, and I'm happy to say that it's looking quite good so far!

If you've chewed through the bite-sized Update 10.0.7 and you're now itching for some new stuff to do, you'll be happy to hear that the next big patch is right around the corner. To be more specific, Update 10.1 - Embers of Neltharion will be going live on May 2nd, 2023.

Embers of Neltharion will bring with it Zaralek Caverns as a chunky new zone to explore, a continuation of the story campaign that will have us face off against the freshly freed Incarnates, a brand new raid by the name of Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, as well as new Assaults to repell in both the Azure Span and Ohn’ahran Plains zones.

Total War: Warhammer 3 artwork showing off Tzeentch demons

[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 3 devs have detailed their roadmap for updates throughout 2023 and early 2024. This also includes fixes for some of the recently introduced performance problems!

[Update]: The update has now arrived, and unfortunately it has done so alongside quite a few performance issues.

Once it arrives this April 13th, Total War: Warhammer 3's Update 3.0 will bring with it the long-awaited Chaos Dwarfs DLC, as well as the biggest set of changes the game has seen so far. While the exact details are still shrouded in mystery, Creative Assembly has announced that one of the new additions will be a set of challenge missions called the Trials of Fate.

The Trials of Fate will put you in the shoes (or perhaps talons) of a newly ascended Daemon Prince of Tzeentch and will task you with carving a bloody path through time itself. Each of the four missions will be a recreation of an infamous battle from the past, all of which will eventually culminate in a showdown with Kairos Fateweaver in the Realm of Tzeentch itself.

Overwatch 2 screenshot of the new support hero Lifeweaver

[Update #2]: I'm afraid I have some bad news. Overwatch 2 will be drastically downscaling the scope and amount of its long-awaited PvE missions.

[Update]: Overwatch 2's April 25th update has rejigged Lifeweaver's keybinds and buffed a bunch of his abilities.

While Season 3 mostly focused on optional game modes and general improvements, tomorrow's Season 4 will once again be adding a brand new hero. This time around we'll be getting Lifeweaver - a highly mobile support that's also capable of messing with the positioning of both allies and enemies.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, and a video has quite a lot of them, allow me to share with you Lifeweaver's gameplay overview trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of just what his skillset is about and how it all plays together. Have a peek:

MTG Arena March of the Machine artwork showing off Teferi, Quintorious and Elspeth

[Update]: MTG Arena's March of the Machine expansion has now arrived with a new card type, improved duplicate protection, and the ability to select your favorite card style!

Shadows Over Innistrad Remastered has only just arrived, and already the MTG Arena team is getting ready to unleash another massive batch of new cards for us to play around with. These will be a bit special, however, as once March of the Machine arrives this April 18th it'll bring with it a brand new card type - Battle!

The way the new card type works is surprisingly simple. Each Battle enters play with a certain number of counters on it, sort of like a planeswalker card. In order to obtain the powerful effects found on the flip side of each Battle, you'll need to reduce those counters to zero through either damage or certain types of spells. Notably, destroying Battles directly will not flip them - you need to remove all of the counters to get to the goodies.

Remnant 2 artwork and logo for the Souls-like third-person shooter game

[Update]: Remnant II has now been unleashed, and so far it's looking quite good!

Remnant: From the Ashes was a rather ambitious third-person shooter that mixed the usual run n' gun action with a couple of Souls-like elements to help keep things tense and interesting, especially in close quarters combat. The end result was a slightly janky, though thoroughly enjoyable experience that I ended up putting in a decent chunk of hours into before moving onto greener pastures. With that in mind, I'm pleased to say that Remnant: From the Ashes will be getting a bigger and bolder sequel soon!

Once it arrives at some point this summer, Remnant 2 will bring with it a variety of improvements, of which the revamped class system is probably the most important one. You can expect to see many more unique abilities, including one that gives you a canine companion, as well as the option to dual-class in the late-game in order to really mix things up. So if all goes well, the new hybrid classes should be unique enough to incentivize multiple playthroughs in order to experience all of the different playstyles, which would be a massive improvement over the original and it's somewhat generic roster of classes.

The Last of Us Part I official artwork and logo for the PC version

[Update]: The Last of Us Part II Remastered has now landed onto PC, and thankfully mostly free of nasty technical issues!

After going through a short yet sudden delay, the PC version of The Last of Us Part I has now finally been unleashed. The PC port brings with it support for 4K resolutions along with AMD FSR and Nvidia DLSS, the ability to use a variety of different control schemes and accessibility options, the Left Behind DLC chapter already bundled in, and even two new shirts for Ellie themed after Left 4 Dead and Portal, because why not!

What some of this looks like in action, however, that you can check out through the freshly posted launch trailer. Have a peek, it's a fairly short one:

Vermintide 2 screenshot of the Warrior Priest Saltzpyre in action

[Update #2]: Vermintide 2 will be adding Sienna's completely unexpected Necromancer career on October 19th.

[Update]: Vermintide 2 has added three lengthy (and free) maps based on the original's Karak Azgaraz DLC.

In celebration of the series' seventh anniversary back in November, the Vermintide 2 team released the snow-covered Trail of Treachery map to herald the beginning of a two-part adventure. A fair few months have gone by since then, but I'm happy to say that the second part, Tower of Treachery, has now finally arrived to give us a bit of an idea of what Sienna's somber sister is even trying to accomplish.

Without wasting more time, allow me to share with you the launch trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of what the Tower of Treachery map is about, as well as how cool it all really looks. Have a peek:

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight screenshot of Dracthyr in the Forbidden Reach zone

[Update #2]: Blizzard has now detailed all of the changes and additions coming with Dragonflight's chunky Update 10.1.

[Update]: World of Warcraft's Update 10.1 will be adding a new zone, raid and cross-faction guilds on May 2nd.

If you have any alts that you would like to get to max level and try to tackle endgame content with, the freshly released Update 10.0.7 is pretty much the perfect time to do so. First and foremost, the newly reopened Forbidden Reach zone is absolutely brimming with rare enemies that drop 385 item level, account bound gear that can then be further upgraded to 395.

So if you have a newly leveled character, you can get them up to speed and ready to tackle at least normal level Raids or lower Mythic+ in less than an hour, which compared to the previous update's progression paths, is insanely fast. And since all of this takes place in a brand new zone, you'll also be able to get a couple of new pets, mounts and other assorted knick-knacks for your troubles!

Resident Evil 4 Remake official key art and logo

Following in the footsteps of the excellent Resident Evil 2 Remake, the freshly launched Resident Evil 4 is a full and faithful reconstruction of one of the most famous survival horror games out there. As you would expect, the remake comes with greatly improved visuals, modernized gameplay and a reimagined story, though at its core it's still good ol' Resident Evil 4.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the launch trailer. It may be short, but it should clue you in quite quickly on just what the remake is trying to do and how it compares to the original. Have a peek:

Total War: Warhammer 3 screenshot of the Chaos Dwarf DLC unit - a mechanical monstrosity

[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 3 devs have detailed their roadmap for updates throughout 2023 and early 2024.

[Update]: Total War: Warhammer 3's Update 3.0 will bring with it four brand new challenge missions - Trials of Fate.

After well over a year of subtle and not-so-subtle teasers, Creative Assembly has now finally unveiled Total War: Warhammer 3's next DLC faction. Unsurprisingly, it's going to be the brutal, industrious and irrevocably cruel Chaos Dwarfs.

The Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC will bring with it three new Legendary Lords with their own unique mechanics and gameplay styles, a brand new lore of magic, as well as 26 new units to mess around with - everything from the hordes of half-naked Orc slaves to the mighty K’daai Destroyer war machines. What this looks like in action, that you can check out through two of the trailers below. Have a gander, starting with the cinematic one:
