World of Warcraft Patch 10.1 Embers of Neltharion artwork and logo

[Update #2]: World of Warcraft: Classic will be launching Hardcore/Permadeath realms on August 24th.

[Update]: World of Warcraft's Update 10.1.5 has arrived with a new mega-dungeon, Evoker Augmentation specialization and a lot more.

After spending a fair bit of time in testing, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight's Update 10.1 has now finally been unleashed. It brings with it a cavernous new zone to explore filled with surprisingly adorable mole-people, support for cross-faction guilds, a new Dragonriding mount, a brand new raid, as well as a whole bunch of balance changes and quality of life improvements.

Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible raid won't be opening its doors until next week, however, so feel free to take it easy and simply enjoy the new zone before things start getting hectic again. As for the various Raid Finder wings, those will be unlocked according to the following schedule:

Week of May 9: Raid Finder Wing 1, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties will open with the weekly maintenance for each region
Week of May 23: Raid Finder Wing 2 opens
Week of June 6: Raid Finder Wing 3 opens
Week of June 20: Raid Finder Wing 4 opens

Besides all of the new content, Update 10.1 has also brought with it a couple of highly impactful tweaks and reworks. The upgrade system has now been unified and should be much easier to manage once everyone gets used to the new currencies, player health and enemy damage has been increased in order to make healing feel a bit better, while a variety of Mythic+ affixes have been changed in an effort to make things less frustrating.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted patch overview. It should give you a pretty good idea of what exactly Blizzard has cooked up for Update 10.1.

If you prefer the written word, or if you're just interested in all of the specifics behind each change, you'll find what you seek over at the patch notes. Enjoy, and here's to hoping the new raid ends up being a fun one!
