[Update]: Remnant II has now been unleashed, and so far it's looking quite good!

Remnant: From the Ashes was a rather ambitious third-person shooter that mixed the usual run n' gun action with a couple of Souls-like elements to help keep things tense and interesting, especially in close quarters combat. The end result was a slightly janky, though thoroughly enjoyable experience that I ended up putting in a decent chunk of hours into before moving onto greener pastures. With that in mind, I'm pleased to say that Remnant: From the Ashes will be getting a bigger and bolder sequel soon!

Once it arrives at some point this summer, Remnant 2 will bring with it a variety of improvements, of which the revamped class system is probably the most important one. You can expect to see many more unique abilities, including one that gives you a canine companion, as well as the option to dual-class in the late-game in order to really mix things up. So if all goes well, the new hybrid classes should be unique enough to incentivize multiple playthroughs in order to experience all of the different playstyles, which would be a massive improvement over the original and it's somewhat generic roster of classes.

Remnant 2 will also be increasing the complexity of its levels and giving players new tools to explore them, which coincidentally also means that the enemies are going to be a fair bit trickier to deal with than before. Add to that a focus on branching questlines, improved level randomization that is now capable of changing almost anything, as well as considerably more interesting loot to uncover, and Remnant 2 should hopefully be a great deal of fun to mess around with.
