The Last of Us Part I artwork for the PC version remake

[Update]: The PC version of The Last of Us Part I has now arrived, though sadly alongside a bunch of technical trouble.

If the excellent TV show has gotten you ready and raring to dive into the upcoming PC version of The Last of Us Part I, I'm afraid I have a small bit of bad news to share. Instead of launching in early March as previously expected, The Last of Us Part I will instead be arriving on March 28th, 2023.

"We want to make sure that The Last of Us Part 1 PC debut is in the best shape possible," reads the brief developer update. "These additional few weeks will allow us to ensure this version of The Last of Us Part I lives up to your, and our, standards."

"We are so excited to bring The Last of Us Part I to a new platform, reaching new and returning players with Joel and Ellie's unforgettable story of survival, and we hope that you'll continue to look forward to its PC release on March 28. The Naughty Dog team appreciates your support and enthusiasm, and we look forward to sharing more about The Last of Us Part I PC version soon."

Given how short the delay is, and how good some of the recent PlayStation ports have ended up being, I must admit I'm not too worried about the fate of The Last of Us Part I on PC. If anything, the delay might end up being a boon as the game will now launch after the show's first season has concluded, thus ensuring people won't spoil some of the surprise for themselves by rushing through the game.

Whatever your thoughts on the matter may be, I'll make sure to let you know once The Last of Us Part I actually arrives. Until then, I'll leave you with the launch trailer for the PS5 version as I imagine the PC version is going to be fairly similar. Enjoy!
