[Update]: Right on cue, the Outer Wilds has now landed onto Steam.
The Outer Wilds, not to be confused with Obsidian's The Outer Worlds, is an exploration-focused adventure game about being stuck in a time loop. However, since things can change between each reset, both the challenge and the reward in the Outer Wilds is to figure out ways to enable further exploration and hopefully figure out what in the world is even happening. A pretty fun concept, all things considered.
While the Outer Wilds has been around on PC and consoles for quite a few months now, the PC version was exclusively available through either the Epic Games Store or the Microsoft Store. If you're not exactly a fan of either one, then you'll be glad to hear that the Outer Wilds will also be making its way to Steam this June 18th.

[Update #2]: Total War: Three Kingdoms' The Furious Wild DLC is bringing in the southern Nanman tribes
[Update]: A World Betrayed has now also made its way to both Linux and macOS.
As a part of the A World Betrayed update, Total War: Three Kingdoms has just received a brand new DLC and a massive free patch. On the paid side of things, the DLC brings with it two new factions led by Lü Bu and Sun Ce, thirteen returning factions with new challenges on the campaign map, new story-focused events, and naturally, even more units to toy around with.
The free update is even more impressive as it not only adds a bunch of new and interesting characters to recruit, but also a better spying system, quality of life tweaks, as well as numerous balance tweaks. Most importantly of all, the free update has also greatly reworked the bandit factions and given them a bit of a unique playstyle. So even if you're not planning to grab the DLC, the bandit rework alone should keep you entertained for quite a few hours.

[Update]: The patch has now gone live, which alongside the new 100% increased experience gain event, makes it the perfect time to give WoW another try.
The Legion expansion and its various raids feature some of the most amazing class-based sets World of Warcraft has ever seen. Unfortunately, farming those sets is currently a bit of a nightmare due to Personal Loot. Instead of killing a boss and then simply looting a raid's worth of items from them, Personal Loot makes it so you only get a single item every couple of bosses, and that item might not even be what you were looking for.
As such, I am delighted to announce that Blizzard is bringing in 'Legacy Loot' for Legion dungeons and raids. Essentially, Legacy Loot makes it so raid and dungeon bosses drop the maximum amount of loot regardless of your group size, which in the case of raids means five items per boss. So if you can solo some of the Legion raids, or even complete them with a small group, you'll have a much greater chance of acquiring the exact items you need.

[Update #2]: Jill Valentine will be heading over to Resident Evil Resistance on April 17, 2020.
[Update]: Resident Evil 3 and its companion Resident Evil 3 Resistance have been released, though sadly they don't seem to have lived up to the high standards set by Resident Evil 2.
Capcom's Resident Evil 3 is set to arrive this April 3rd, bringing with it a remastered version of the 1999 horror classic. While it won't follow in exactly the same footsteps as the original, the recently released demo has shown it to be a remarkably faithful adaptation, so I must admit I have incredibly high hopes for Resident Evil 3.
Whether that optimism will come to bite me later on, that still remains to be seen, but the newly posted and Jill focused preview is certainly pointing towards a positive direction. Have a gander, you'll see what I mean:

[Update]: Vermintide 2's next update is adding Grail Knight Kruber as a new class, as well as new weather variations for the maps.
While Vermintide 2 has quite a few maps to its name, the recent Curse of Drachenfels trilogy is among the very best, with each new map being noticeably better than the last. As such, it might not come as too much of a surprise to hear that the newly released Enchanter's Lair map is not only awesome to explore, but that it contains the most exciting boss fight in all of Vermintide 2!
The reason for this is that Nurgloth the Eternal, the Rotbloods’ chief soothsayer and Burblespue Halescourge’s arch-rival, doesn't just stand around like most of the other bosses. Instead, he's either sending hordes of minions to distract you while he attacks from range, or he's spreading plague through most of the boss arena while chasing you around with his scythe. To put it simply, he feels like an actual boss rather than a beefed up minion, and I can only hope Fatshark will be adding more bosses like him in the future as well!

If you're in the mood for giving Heroes of the Storm a try and seeing what exactly Blizzard's entry has done to the MOBA genre, this would be the perfect time to do so. In order to encourage everyone to stay indoors as much as possible, Blizzard has unlocked every single character until April 2nd.
This might not sound like a big deal, but since each character can take a considerable amount of playtime (or money) to unlock, having access to all of them is actually quite handy. This goes doubly so for new players as the initial roster is heavily restricted and often devoid of some of the more interesting and technical characters.

[Update #2]: Valve has added over three hours of Developer Commentary for Half-Life: Alyx!
[Update]: Valve has now released the official modding tools and Workshop support for Half-Life: Alyx!
After what feels like an eternity of waiting, a brand new Half-Life game has now finally arrived. However, instead of continuing on from Episode 2's cliffhanger, the VR-focused Half-Life: Alyx is a prequel that takes place between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2, and follows the titular Alyx Vance as she attempts to weaken the Combine's grip on City 17.
What truly sets Half-Life: Alyx apart is not the story or even the Half-Life name, but rather the simple fact that it's one of the very first big-budgeted VR games with a decent length to it. Valve really has poured in a ton of time and effort into making Half-Life: Alyx a flagship game for VR, and from what I've seen so far, I'm pleased to say they have managed to do just that!

[Update]: An experimental update has now arrived with significant Ashe and Pharah buffs, so it would appear that the whole Hero Pools experiment was quite successful!
When Blizzard first announced weekly hero bans, they said they were going to heavily experiment with the concept in order to see what works best. Well, if Week 4 is any indicator, they certainly weren't joking!
As a part of this week's Hero Pool, D.Va, Mccree, Soldier 76, Sombra, Widowmaker and Baptiste have all been rotated out of Competitive Play. Needless to say, removing most hitscan heroes and D.Va is going to create a drastically different meta, one where highly aggressive but vulnerable heroes like Pharah, Genji, or Wrecking Ball can dominate.

[Update #2]: The double experience event has been extended all the way until the Shadowlands pre-patch!
[Update]: Blizzard is also adding 'Legacy Loot' for Legion raids and dungeons. In other words, you'll now have an easier time getting some fancy new cosmetics for your alts!
If you ever wanted to introduce some friends to World of Warcraft's end-game, or simply level an army of alt characters to 120, this would be the ideal time. In order to encourage everyone to stay inside, Blizzard has now added a 100% experience buff for all players.
In reality, that bonus is even higher as this new experience buffs will stack with Heirlooms. Combine that with the currently ongoing Timewalking Dungeon event, and you can essentially speedrun your way to level 120, all the while earning new cosmetics and mounts from Timewarped Badges and the dungeons themselves. A pretty good deal, if you ask me!
