[Update]: The refreshingly faithful Destroy All Humans! remake has now landed for PC and consoles

A remake of the original Destroy All Humans! is set to arrive this July 28th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Expect to see greatly improved visuals, an assortment of over-the-top and cheesy weapons, large cities to explore and inevitably ruin, as well as a brand new (and previously only rumored) mission set in Area 42.

If you're wondering what all of this nonsense might look like in-game, allow me to share with you one of the gameplay trailers. Have a gander, it's a fairly short one:

[Update #2]: The next big bug-fixing patch is scheduled for early July.

[Update]: The newest beta update has greatly beefed up Orcs and their Black Orc Big Boss hero.

Total War: Warhammer 2 just recently added The Warden & The Paunch DLC alongside a massive Greenskins rework. The rework made it so Waaagh! armies are now significantly more fun to manage, scrap has been introduced as a new means of upgrading Greenskins troops, while the new tech tree ensures that even the lowliest goblins can become viable in the end-game.

While all of that is certainly a solid addition, the update unfortunately brought with it a rather sinister bug as well - any additional weapon strength is simply not being counted. So if you're wondering why Grimgor with his 900 weapon strength seems to be struggling to beat up a skirt-wearing Empire wizard, that would be your answer. He and the other units are permanently stuck on their initial weapon damage, and no matter what items, Waaagh! buffs or events that pop up, they will never move from that number no matter what the unit card says.

[Update]: Update 2 has now improved Empowered Demons and added a new Battlemode map.

A short while ago, Doom Eternal received a fairly hefty new update. It brought in Empowered Demons to spice up the singleplayer campaign, prestige leveling that lets you continue unlocking fancy insignias even after you've hit level 250, as well as an assortment of quality-of-life changes and bug fixes.

Unfortunately, all of the good stuff in the update was overshadowed by the inclusion of Denuvo Anti-Cheat in both multiplayer and singleplayer. Given that the playerbase was already riled up due to Riot's somewhat similar anti-cheat for Valorant making a big mess, the addition of Denuvo Anti-Cheat to Doom Eternal quickly resulted in massive amounts of complaints and negative reviews on Steam.

[Update]: Samurai Shodown has now arrived, and as expected, the PC version is having mixed reception.

After being exclusive to consoles for about a year now, SNK's Samurai Shodown fighting game is now just about ready to make its way onto PC. You can expect to see it arrive this June 11th for the Epic Games Store at a €50 price tag.

What exactly Samurai Shodown has to offer, as well as what the PC version even looks like, that you'll find out through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander:

Total War Saga: Troy artwork showing off the minotaur

The divide between Total War: Three Kingdoms and Total War: Warhammer 2 is fairly self-evident. The first is almost entirely focused around portraying historical events with appropriate units and technology, while the second is a completely crazy fantasy world where half-naked barbarians go toe to toe with rats manning machine guns.

However, when it comes to the upcoming Total War Saga: Troy, things start to get a little bit muddled. There are very few historical records about Troy, and the ones we do have frequently delve into the fantastical themselves. So the big question Creative Assembly had to answer is: do you stick to Troy's historical roots, or do you go the way of Warhammer and just portray characters like Achilles as super-human?

[Update]: Skulls for the Skull Throne 2021 has arrived with a ton of new content and sales for Warhammer games.

If you were planning to grab a Warhammer Fantasy or Warhammer 40k game, this would be the ideal time to do so. I say this because The Skulls for the Skull Throne 4 event has just recently landed onto Steam, bringing with it an assortment of discounts for a wide variety of Warhammer games.

Many of the games have also received a small content update to help celebrate the event and bring glory to Khorne's name. Total War: Warhammer 2 has added the Black Orc Big Boss, Vermintide 2 a special frame and a rather skull-heavy keep rework, Chaosbane a brand new Infinite Tower mode, and the list goes on.

Overwatch official artwork of Efi and Orisa

Even though the Overwatch community has been begging for more lore ever since the game first launched, Blizzard has never really expanded its universe beyond the occasional short story. There were originally plans for a graphic novel detailing the fall of the Overwatch organization, but after that one got canceled, Blizzard seemingly lost any interest in trying again.

With that in mind, I am both surprised and pleased to say that Blizzard has now come out to announce the very first Overwatch novel - The Hero of Numbani. As you might imagine from the name alone, the novel will follow Orisa and her creator Efi on their various adventures throughout the futuristic city of Numbani. Here's the brief summary:

[Update]: A brand new giveaway has now arrived, and it's the chaotic co-op cooking game Overcooked!

Epic has recently launched their massive sale, and so they are doing everything in their power to get people to pay them a visit. And honestly, I think their plan is working pretty well given that these past two weeks they've turned quite a few heads by giving out GTA 5 and Civilization VI, while this week they're doing the same with Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

When it comes to the games themselves, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection contains Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, as well as every single piece of DLC content released for both games! In other words, if you're a fan of looter-shooters, this is a giveaway you really shouldn't miss out on!

Far Cry 5 helpful dog screenshot

If you ever wanted to give Far Cry 5 a try and see just what it has to offer compared to its predecessors, you're in luck as it's currently having a free weekend on PC. Simply head on over to the Ubisoft website, create or log in to your account, and you'll be good to go after a bit of a download.

The catch, as you can probably guess from the "free weekend" thing alone, is that Far Cry 5 will only remain free to play for another two days. While certainly not enough time to finish the whole game, unless you're attempting to speedrun it anyway, it should be more than enough to give you a basic understanding of what Far Cry 5 is about and whether it's even your type of game.

[Update]: Guild Wars 2's The Icebrood Saga - Jormag Rising update is launching in late July.

While the previous episode spent most of its time reminiscing about Season 1 content, the freshly added Chapter Three of The Icebrood Saga has brought with it Drizzlwood Coast as an action-packed new map to explore, a full-blown war between the Charr Factions, and naturally, a whole host of new cosmetics to toy around with.

Even though the new story is certainly fun to follow, it is the Drizzlewood Coast map that is the definite highlight of this update. The designers have taken heavy inspiration from the World vs World game mode, and it really shows given that the new map features massive events that have you siege fortresses, take control of supplies, and mow down enemies by the dozens. It really does feel like something far greater than you!
