After spending a fair bit of time being exclusive to the Epic Games Store, the Outer Wilds (not to be confused with Obsidian's The Outer Worlds) has now made its way to Steam as well. So if you're in the mood for an exploration-focused adventure about being stuck in a time loop, this would be a pretty good time to check it out.
As for what exactly you can expect to see from the Outer Wilds, that you can find out through the original launch trailer. Have a gander:

[Update]: Mimimi's next game Shadow Gambit will be a fun mixture of pirates, magic, stealth and strategy!
If you're a fan of the oldschool Commandos series, or stealth games in general, you might want to check out the newly released Desperados 3. Much like its predecessor Shadow Tactics from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, Desperados 3 is a stealth-focused strategy game where you control a small squad of highly diverse and efficient characters as they clean out entire strongholds without alerting even a single enemy!
You can get a pretty good idea of what this looks like in gameplay terms, as well as what kind of style Desperados 3 is even going for, through the recently posted release trailer. Have a gander:

[Update]: New and improved Outward: Definitive Edition is launching on May 17th, 2022 .
If you're like me and you've pretty much explored every nook and cranny in Outward, you'll be happy to hear that its very first expansion has now arrived for PC. The Soroboreans expansion brings with it a variety of new locations and enemies to contend with, a whole assortment of trinkets and armor to collect, as well as a new skill tree and status effects.
There's also a brand new enhancement system that lets you further customize your weapons, trinkets and armor sets. Getting the best stuff is a fairly expensive affair, as is tradition with all things in Outward, but the benefits are definitely worth the trouble as you can make some monstrously powerful characters!

As the title would suggest, Iron Harvest is an upcoming real-time strategy game set in an alternate history version of the 1920s. Expect to see common men fighting alongside an assortment of dieselpunk robots, heavily armored and mobile bunkers, sword-wielding mechs, and a whole host of other clunky yet incredibly deadly machinery.
You can get a bit of an idea of what this madhouse looks like in action, as well as how adorable the killer robots really are, through the recently posted trailer. Have a little peek:

[Update]: After two years in Early Access, Griftlands has now successfully been unleashed!
Klei Entertainment, the studio behind Don't Starve and Oxygen Not Included, has now unleashed their newest game Griftlands onto Steam Early Access. To put it simply, Griftlands is a rogue-lite deck-building game that's all about making hard choices, picking the right factions and people to support, and naturally, experimenting with a variety of builds before you inevitably pick a fight with someone you really shouldn't have.
Right now Griftlands only has two playable character, though each one has their own unique campaign with different factions to befriend (or annoy) and locations to plunder. Each one also comes with two distinct decks to toy around with, one for battle and one for negotiations, which makes hitting the perfect built quite a tricky affair. So if you're looking for a roguelite game with a bit of longevity, it seems like Griftlands will have you covered.

[Update]: Surgeon Simulator 2 has just made its way to PC alongside a new multiplayer mode and level editor.
While the premise behind the original Surgeon Simulator was fairly stupid, the actual gameplay ended up being remarkably fun, especially once all of the updates rolled in and added a bunch of new content for free. If you share the sentiment, then you'll be glad to hear that Surgeon Simulator 2 will be coming on August 31st, 2020.
It'll bring with it a variety of new scenarios and surgeries to bungle up, co-op mode for up to four players in order to give your patients the least possible chance of survival, and most importantly of all, the ability to create and share your very own levels! While the details are still few and far between, you'll apparently be able to do everything the developers themselves are capable of, so I'm fully expecting to see absolute madness from day one.

[Update #2]: After multiple delays, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is now fully ready to launch.
[Update]: Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been pushed back to 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic.
Besides being downright adorable, the newly announced Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a story-focused action-adventure about a young spirit guide that has to restore the balance of nature while figuring out what exactly caused the demise of her village. In order to achieve this you'll have to face off against a variety of corrupted monsters, team up with an assortment of cutesy companions, solve puzzles and uncover secrets, and slowly but surely restore the beauty of the world.
Given that the atmosphere and visuals are half of the appeal in Kena: Bridge of Spirits, allow me to stop babbling and instead share with you the announcement trailer. Have a gander, it really is a beautiful-looking game:

If you're in the mood for something a little out of the ordinary, you should check out the newly announced Foreclosed. It offers a bit of an interesting blend between cyberpunk action and comic book style visuals, all wrapped up together into the framework of a graphic novel.
Since that has probably left you more confused than anything else, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Have a look, it'll clue you in quite quickly on just what Foreclosed is trying to achieve:
Mortal Shell is a Souls-like action RPG with a highly compelling and downright oppressive atmosphere

[Update #2]: Mortal Shell will be making its way to PC and consoles this August 18th.
[Update]: Mortal Shell has now opened up its free beta for everyone to enjoy.
If you're a fan of the Souls-like genre and you're looking for a new contender to sink your teeth into, you might want to keep an eye on the newly announced Mortal Shell. Much like Dark Souls from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, Mortal Shell is all about exploring a broken-down world in search of some sort of salvation, all the while facing down one challenging foe after another in highly precise duels.
As for the Mortal Shell name, it is quite literal in this case. According to the brief description, you'll be able to awaken the long-lost remains of legendary warriors, and through their skill further enhance your combat options. Whether these possessions will be permanent or something you change on a frequent basis, I'm afraid I have no answer to give you, but it's certainly an interesting concept to puzzle over!

[Update]: Deep Rock Galactic update has added two new mission types and a bunch of cosmetics.
It has only been a short while since Deep Rock Galactic released from Steam Early Access, and already Ghost Ship Games have launched a fairly sizable update. This one brings with it a variety of bug and crash fixes, three new secondary objectives, as well as a whole bunch of new layouts and props to gawk at as you explore the numerous biomes.
Perhaps most importantly, there's now a brand new boss-like enemy to encounter while wondering through the cave systems - the Korlok Tyrant-Weed. It's a particularly nasty one as it endlessly spawns aggressive sproutlings that will eventually overwhelm even the best of teams, so do make sure to tear out its 'heart' before it manages to return the favor.
