Fae Tactics screenshot showing off the combat

[Update]: Fae Tactics has now arrived, and as expected, it's quite charming!

If you're like me and you spent an unhealthy amount of time playing Final Fantasy Tactics back in the day, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Fae Tactics. To put it quite bluntly, it's a faithful homage to Final Fantasy Tactics featuring a fairly similar gameplay style, as well as a colorful cast of characters and monsters to recruit, all on top of some lovely pixel artwork.

As for what exactly all of this looks like in action, that you can find out through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander, it's quite a charming one:

Fall Guys screenshot of some colorful multiplayer madness

[Update #2]: Fall Guys will be adding a fan-favorite beta level with today's update.

[Update]: Fall Guys has now launched, and unsurprisingly, it's pretty darn fun!

If you're tired of the endless stream of battle royale games and you're looking for something a bit less serious yet still competitive, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Fall Guys. To put it simply, Fall Guys is an utterly wacky party game for up to 60 players that will have you compete in numerous physics-based challenges, all in an effort to be the last vaguely human shaped blob standing!

Since words alone can't properly describe the manic energy and sheer madness behind Fall Guys, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Have a peek, it's really is a fun one:

Olija official artwork and logo

I've seen video game protagonists use just about every single weapon imaginable, but I have to admit I've never seen one wield a harpoon as their weapon of choice! And yet, that is exactly what your character in the upcoming Olija uses to not only fight the endless stream of bizarre baddies, but also to get around by utilizing it as a surprisingly effective grappling hook!

You can get a pretty good idea of what this kind of nonsense looks like in gameplay terms, as well as what sort of atmosphere Olija is going for, through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander:

Carrion official artwork and logo

[Update]: Carrion has now slithered its way onto Steam!

If you ever wanted to be an amorphous blob of murder-tentacles, then boy do I have a game for you! The upcoming Carrion is essentially a reverse horror game where you play as everyone's worst nightmare, an ever-growing mass of tentacled hatred that just slithers from vent to vent, devouring absolutely everything in its path.

The more you eat, the stronger you'll become and the more powers you'll unlock. A simple enough system. However, there is a bit of a downside to all of this - the bigger you are, the easier it is for high-powered security turrets to gun you down the moment you creep out of the shadows! So despite playing as an absolute monstrosity, Carrion will still require a fair bit of finesse in order to make it through alive-ish.

Othercide official artwork and logo

[Update]: Othercide and its rather striking visuals have now landed onto both PC and consoles.

If you're looking for a turn-based strategy game that's a little bit more fast-paced and proactive, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Othercide. Besides a downright lovely horror aesthetic, Othercide features a dynamic timeline that allows for the planning of elaborate combos that can involve multiple characters and cascade into an entire flurry of attacks.

Since this is one of those things that is easier to describe through actual gameplay, allow me to share with you the recently posted overview trailer. It'll give you a pretty good idea of just what Othercide is going for, as well as how fetching the artstyle truly is. Have a look:

Overcooked! 2's Sun's Out, Buns Out update artwork and logo

[Update]: Overcooked! 2's free Moon Harvest update has baked a sizable batch of new content.

Even though it already has a rather sizable amount of content, the Overcooked! 2 team has just now released a brand new batch for everyone to enjoy! The free Sun's Out, Buns Out update brings with it two downright adorable canine chefs, a variety of summer recipes to help you cool off, five new kitchens to completely ruin, as well as fireworks, confetti and festival floats to help spice all of that up!

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this nonsense looks like in gameplay terms, as well as just how charming it all is, through the newly posted trailer. Have a peek:

Beyond a Steel Sky screenshot of a rather unique landscape

If you're a fan of point & click adventure games, especially the oldschool ones, then you might be interested to hear that Beyond a Steel Sky has now finally been released. As the name would suggest, Beyond a Steel Sky is a modern sequel to the legendary (and still entirely free) Beneath the Steel Sky that hails all the way back from 1994.

As for what exactly it's about, it's probably best to describe Beyond a Steel Sky as a cyberpunk adventure that will have you explore the usual assortment of themes like corruption, total surveillance, artificial intelligence, and the cost of freedom. Besides these rather heavy themes, you can also expect to see a fair bit of witty and humorous dialogue, as well as plenty of puzzles to wrack your brain against.

Mind Control Delete official artwork and logo

If you're in the mood for some time-bendy shooty action, you might be glad to hear that Superhot's standalone expansion Mind Control Delete has now arrived. It brings with it a campaign that's significantly longer than the original game's, increasingly more challenging encounters, more bizarre mysteries to unravel, and naturally, even more skills and techniques to toy around with as you dance across the battlefield.

Perhaps most importantly of all, Superhot: Mind Control Delete is entirely free to everyone that purchased the original Superhot before July 16th! You don't even need to do anything special in order to claim your copy. As long as you actually bought Superhot and didn't receive it through some sort of giveaway, the Mind Control Delete expansion should already be added to your account!

Rogue Legacy 2 screenshot of the broken throne

[Update #2]: After two years in Early Access, Rogue Legacy 2 is set to be unleashed on April 28th, 2022.

[Update]: After a brief delay, Rogue Legacy 2 has now made its way to Steam Early Access!

Rogue Legacy 2 was originally supposed to launch into Steam Early Access this July 23rd, but alas, it has now been delayed until August 18th. The reason, as you might imagine, is that the developers need a little bit more time in order to get everything polished up and ready to go.

"Game development is a lot like football," reads the brief announcement. "It's weird, unpredictable, and we don't know the rules. And just like football, when you get the ball, sometimes you've just gotta run with it."

Wildfire official artwork and logo

As the name would imply, Wildfire is no ordinary stealth game. Instead of spending the entire game moving from shadow to shadow and praying the guards don't glance in your direction, Wildfire allows you to use elemental magic to create new pathways, incapacitate enemies, and obviously enough, cause a gigantic and nearly unstoppable blaze for your opponents to worry about while you slip by unnoticed.

Wildfire released back in late May to some pretty solid reception, and after collecting a variety of feedback, the appropriately named Sneaky Bastards studio has now returned with a major update. This very first patch brings with it over 100 fixes, tweaks, improvements and changes, all in an effort to iron out some of the annoying bugs and make the whole experience a lot smoother.
