[Update]: The patch has now gone live without too much trouble, though sadly all of the DLCs have been delisted from Steam.

This October 1st Ubisoft will be shutting down online functionality for a whole bunch of their older games, including Anno 2070. However, in a refreshing little twist, the Anno team has decided to spare their game this fate by seemingly bypassing Ubisoft's servers entirely.

As such, thanks to the upcoming September 7th Update 3.0, Anno 2070's online functionality will be preserved for a long time to come! What this means is that you'll be able to continue doing World Events and vote in council elections, keep your current save files and progression, as well as dive into any of the multiplayer modes.

Sonic Frontiers' latest preview details what the gameplay is actually about

[Update]: Sonic Frontiers has now arrived onto PC and consoles alongside some highly divisive reviews.

Instead of starting off their presentation with a bang and getting everyone hyped about Sonic Frontiers, the Sonic Team decided to first showcase incredibly slow combat encounters and a map that mostly consisted of empty space. Needless to say, this caused the general opinion about Sonic Frontiers to crater as the game looked unfinished at best, and utterly boring at worst.

In most cases that would be where the story begins and ends, but thankfully it looks like Sonic Frontiers' biggest issue was its marketing and not the actual gameplay. So as a part of the newest preview, Sonic Team has now returned to detail everything Sonic Frontiers has to offer as well as what it's open world level design is really like. Have a gander:

[Update]: Funcom is now working on an open world, survival-focused MMO set in the Dune universe!

Four years after its launch, the survival-focused Conan Exiles has now decided to really shake things up with the massive Update 3.0 - Age of Sorcery. As the name might imply, the star attraction in Update 3.0 is the new sorcery system that allows you to delve into dark lore, make blood sacrifices and even give up your own life force in exchange for an assortment of powerful and very, very corrupted sorceries.

Additionally, you can now specialize your characters even further by choosing between two powerful perks at every other attribute milestone. Those that follow the dark path of sorcery can also infuse their stats with corruption so when they reach a perk milestone they'll instead get a special sorcery perk.

What this means in gameplay terms is that you will have to develop your economy by building new industries and trading on the volatile markets, manage numerous conflicting factions within your own country through laws and reforms, as well as use diplomacy to fight back against your rivals while trying to push through your own agendas. And when all else fails, there's always the option to start a massive war in order to help even the scales!

The minimalistic, card-based JRPG Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden is launching this September 13th

[Update]: The Beasts of Burden has now arrived, and so far the reception has been quite positive.

Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden, much like its two predecessors The Forsaken Maiden and The Isle Dragon Roars, is a traditional swords & sorcery JRPG where literally everything is done through the use of cards. You'll explore a large world map made entirely out of cards, make difficult choices and have conversations by using cards representing your options, and naturally, fight enemies by flinging your cards directly at their face.

The whole idea behind the Voice of Cards series is to create a sort of Dungeons & Dragons experience where your only window into the world and its characters comes from the 'dungeon master' running the whole adventure and the couple of cards you can see before you. What this looks like in actual gameplay, that you can find out through the trailer below. Have a gander:

[Update]: Thanks to a massive outcry, F1 Manager 2022 will not be getting abandoned after a mere two months.

After last year's Jurassic World Evolution 2, Frontier Developments have now returned with yet another detailed simulator to mess around with. However, instead of experimenting with dinosaurs and genetics, the freshly launched F1 Manager 2022 will have you micromanage every aspect of a Formula 1 team, from the tires that are used in each race to the budget and finances behind each aspect of your strategy. In other words, it's pretty much Football Manager for Formula 1 fans.

What this looks like in actual gameplay, that you can get a decent impression of through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:
