Telltale's The Walking Dead: Michonne Release Date Announced

Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season 1 is in many ways the game that saved the story-focused adventure genre from certain extinction. Its combination of believable characters, mature storytelling and the inclusion of the all-popular zombies resulted in a game that became a classic the moment it released.
If after finishing Season 2 you found yourself itching for more I have some good news because Telltale has recently announced that their mini series titled The Walking Dead: Michonne will be premiering on February 23rd. Here's the trailer:
The Division Open Beta Starts Soon - Here Are All The New Features And Changes

The Division will be entering open beta testing on February 16th for the Xbox One with the PS4 and PC versions following suit the next day. The beta test is scheduled to run until February 21st so you will have a good few days to try out The Division.
If you participated in the previous beta tests you will find a number of new additions and changes in the open beta as the developers have been hard at work patching, introducing and polishing features based on community feedback. Frozen Synapse 2 Has Been Announced - The Focus Is On Open World Tactics

The original Frozen Synapse might be one of the most unique and well made strategy games in the "recent" years. The fact that both players take their turns simultaneously adds an immense amount of depth as you have to consider both your plans and those of your opponent's. In short, it was and still is a really fun game that's well worth the time and effort it takes to "git gud" at it.
And if you've managed to master the small-ish levels of Frozen Synapse I have some exciting news to tell you because Frozen Synapse 2 has just been announced and its going to be focused around open world tactics.
Overwatch Beta Is Live Once More - Here's An Overview Of The New Features

After an unusually long wait the Overwatch beta has finally returned, bringing with it a lot of exiting new additions and an even bigger amount of disappointment as many people have once again realized that there is no key awaiting in their inbox.
The new features I'm talking about are updates to the player progression system, a new co-op vs AI mode, a new game mode called Control, two new maps and a bunch of mutators/custom gameplay options for private games. Here's the developer update video along with my brief overview of the changes:

Firewatch is a very atmospheric narrative-driven adventure game that's all about hiking across beautiful landscapes and having a chat with your witty supervisor along the way.
I've spent my this weekend exploring its peaks and valleys and I found it to be rather lovely (you can read the full review here) so now that its officially released I'd like to bring the natural beauty of Firewatch to your attention.

Amazon Has Released Their Free "Lumberyard" Game Engine

A couple of years ago Amazon gathered up a bunch of talented game and engine developers and simply went dark with their final announcement saying that exciting things will be coming in the future.
It would appear that the future is now as Amazon has released a beta version of their free & open-source game engine titled Lumberyard. Its based on CryEngine so expect to see some beautiful games coming out of the woodwork's. Here's the announcement video and a few more details:
