[Update]: Dead Island 2 is not only alive, but it's also finally launching on February 3rd, 2023 for PC and consoles!
Dead Island, the game with quite possibly the best and most misleading trailer I've ever seen, is soon getting the remaster treatment, which unfortunately won't cure the endless sewer level, but it sure will make it a lot prettier.
Along with the updated version of the original game, the Dead Island Definitive Collection is also bundling in the remastered version of Dead Island: Riptide, and Dead Island Retro Revenge. Here's the trailer showcasing the new lighting and graphics in action:
Heroes Of The Storm Is Getting A Ranked Play Revamp Next Week
- By Ash
- in News
The current ranked play system in Heroes of the Storm is basic at best, and completely ineffective at worst. Its not infrequent to meet players that are of a similar rank to you, yet in a completely different league skill-wise, both positive and negative.
With the upcoming June 14 ranked play revamp these issues should all be a thing of the past as Heroes of the Storm is adapting a system very similar to the proven and tested one from Starcraft 2, and best of all, there are some nifty prizes for those that decided to push through the ranks.
Battlefield 1 Is Bringing The Series Back Into The Past
- By Ash
- in News
I'm sure its completely unrelated, but I find it hilarious that the upcoming Call of Duty is going full-on futuristic with space travel and mechs, while Battlefield is ditching all of the modern technology in favor of the down and dirty setting of World War 1.
Don't take that as a complaint, however, as the recently shown announcement trailer is, for the lack of a better word, pretty damn awesome. Direct your eyeballs below and have a look for yourself:
XCOM 2's Alien Hunters DLC Is Coming Next Week With New Weapons, And Aliens To Use Them On
- By Ash
- in News
The first DLC for XCOM 2, Anarchy's Children, was a rather mediocre one as it only offered cosmetics with no actual gameplay improvements, and worst of all, the majority of the them were either completely absurd, ill-fitting in the world and its lore, or just downright stupid.
Thankfully, the Alien Hunters DLC that's coming on May 12 is everything the first one isn't. It brings with it a bunch of unique new armor pieces and weaponry, a new narrative-focused mission, and most importantly, three 'Ruler' type aliens to square off against, each one with their own personal set of tactics, behaviors, and naturally, amazing loot for those that manage to bring them down.

Its been known for a while now that Shadwen, Frozenbyte's time-bending stealth game, would be coming at some point in May, but now we finally have an official release date as well, May 17th.
You can expect to see Shadwen on the PC, PS4, Mac, and Linux at a €17/$17 price tag, with a slight discount awaiting those that buy it during the launch week. If you're wondering how all of it looks in action, here's the most recent trailer:
Fallout 4's Biggest DLC 'Far Harbor' Is Coming On May 19th
- By Ash
- in News
With the two "bite-sized" DLCs out of the way, Fallout 4 is now preparing for the arrival of its biggest and most content-rich expansion, Far Harbor.
According to Bethesda Far Harbor features the most expansive landmass they've ever created for an addon/expansion, as well as numerous faction quests, brand new settlements, deadly critters, and naturally, plenty of irradiated 'dungeons' to delve.
If you're interested in what all of that will look like in action, here's the recently posted trailer:
You Should Try: Path Of Exile - A Diablo 2 Inspired ARPG with an absurd amount of content
- By Ash
- in You Should Try
"You Should Try" is a series of articles where I'll showcase you a game I really enjoy while explaining what exactly makes it fun. This can be any game, new or old, indie or AAA, the only requirement is that it has to be something I've found myself greatly enjoying and in need of sharing with the world.
Today I think you should try Path of Exile, a free-to-play ARPG that draws its inspiration from Diablo 2 and features a frankly ridiculous amount of viable character builds, spell combinations, and most importantly, content to enjoy.
