For those of you that haven't played Starcraft 2 in a while, Legacy of the Void brought with it one of the best features Starcraft 2 ever witnessed - challenging co-op missions.
As you might imagine, however, after numerous playthroughs even the most challenging of content tends to become somewhat samey, and worst of all when it comes to having a jolly good time, laughably easy. Thankfully, the upcoming Patch 3.3 is attempting to remedy exactly that issue by providing mutators, a new way to spice up your gameplay. Here's the developer video showcasing some of these mutators in action:
GTA Online Is Getting "Massive, Feature-Rich" Content Updates In The Near Future
- By Ash
- in News
I'll be the first one to say that GTA Online has been a massive disappointment as the dev team seems to have mistaken the word "grind" with "fun", but over time and through numerous updates it has finally become something that at least resembles what I wanted to see out of a multiplayer GTA V experience.
Things are set to become even better in the near future as Rockstar has just announced their plans for a couple of "massive, feature-rich" content updates, along with numerous weekly events that will be raining down bonus RP and GTA$ onto the cash-starved masses. Here's a brief overview of what to expect:

After being leaked not once, not even twice, but three times now, the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster has finally been officially confirmed for PC and Steam.
And in standard Square Enix fashion its being released in only a couple of days time, May 12 to be specific, without even a single bit of marketing, or even a tweet to let the world know of its existence. With that mini-rant aside, here's one of the recent trailers showcasing all of the graphical improvements and fancy new features that come with the remastered version:
Battleborn Gameplay Showcase - Starring ISIC And The Incursion Game Mode
- By Ash
- in News
Battleborn is a MOBA/FPS hybrid from the creators of Borderlands. As such it features the same sort of gunplay and fast-paced movement, though with the addition of numerous active abilities, a wide range of unique characters, and naturally, enemy minions to slay.
This gameplay video will focus on the 'main' PvP mode - Incursion - where you are required to push into the enemy base and destroy their Sentry, in other words the main building in any MOBA game. Along the way you will be joined by ISIC, the 'totally not evil' robot that's bent on world domination, loves spouting terrible jokes, and carries a gigantic plasma cannon which is far deadlier than what the other players give it credit for. Duke Forces Mod Combines Duke Nukem 3D With Star Wars (And Lightsabers)

Did you ever think of a pun so glorious that you felt like making an entire mod around it? Probably not, but I have a feeling the creator of Duke Forces underwent that exact line of thinking when he came up the with mod's tagline "Use the Force, Duke!".
As you might guess from the title, Duke Forces is a total conversion of Duke Nukem 3D with a Star Wars twist, inspired by one of the better old-school Star Wars games out there, Dark Forces. Its designed to be a bit of cheesy and completely ridiculous fun, and if the brief trailer is any judge, it manages to do just that:
Battlefield 1 Will Feature Extensive Hand-To-Hand Combat, Launch Day Performance Is A Big Focus

During the recent reveal for Battlefield 1 EA and DICE showcased numerous moments of hand-to-hand combat, including the hilarious shovel-slap, but they never mentioned how the melee combat would be one of the key elements of gameplay.
This information comes from a recent interview Venturebeat did with Battlefield 1's Lead Designer Daniel Berlin where they discussed numerous aspects of gameplay, the team's decision making process, and most interestingly, the melee combat system and performance worries. Here's what Berlin had to say:
Id Software Recently Showed Off Doom Running On A GTX 1080 At 200 FPS

During a recent Nvidia event Id Software came on stage to show off Doom's performance when backed up by the monstrously powerful (and expensive) GTX 1080. To top things off, they also used the Vulkan API, which is essentially the OpenGL equivalent of DirectX 12, though they didn't mention how much it actually impacted Doom's performance.
The end result of all of this was some rather stunning footage of Doom that managed to constantly remain between 150 - 200 FPS, and best of all, the presenter actually seemed to be capable of aiming unlike the previous few trailers where we only got to enjoy watching the Doom guy flail about. That mini-rant aside, here's the video:
