MTG Arena's big artifact focused expansion The Brother's War is launching on November 15th

[Update #2]: MTG Arena's The Brothers' War expansion has now arrived with a ton of new and retro artifacts in tow.

[Update]: I have some excellent news to share! The Brother's War expansion will be massively increasing the amount of Rare and Mythic cards given to players!

I hope you're in the mood for some fancy artifacts, as there's undoubtedly going to be an absolute ton of them in MTG Arena's next big Standard expansion - The Brother's War. You can expect to see it land onto MTG Arena on November 15th, while the tabletop version will be unleashed a few days later, on November 18th.

The exact list of new and returning mechanics has still not been announced, though I can tell you that Meld and Unearth will be two of them. The first, true to its name, allows you to combine two cards into a significantly stronger one - in this case to showcase the incredible power wielded by both Urza and Mishra. Unearth on the other hand allows you to return a creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with haste, though it won't stick around for long as it'll get exiled at the end of the turn or if it leaves the battlefield.

[Update #2]: Apex Legends' Spellbound update is bringing back Control, buffing the Sentinel and adding a bunch of new cosmetics.

[Update]: Season 15 has now arrived with Catalyst, the Bad Moon map and a bunch of improvements.

If you're itching for the Apex Legends meta to get a bit of a shakeup, you won't have to wait all that long as Season 15 - Eclipse has now been pinned for a November 1st launch. The star attraction will be the brand new legend Catalyst that utilizes a ferrofluid to manipulate the environment around her.

There are currently no details about what her abilities do, but you can get a pretty good idea of her personality, motivations and backstory through the freshly posted Last Hope animated short. Have a gander, it's as stylish as usual:

Faith: The Unholy Trinity 8-bit atmospheric horror artwork and logo

[Update]: Faith: The Unholy Trinity has now arrived, and unsurprisingly the Steam reviews have been overwhelmingly positive so far!

If you're in the mood to try out a rather unusual horror game this Halloween season, the upcoming Faith: The Unholy Trinity should fit the bill quite nicely. Once it arrives this October 21st onto PC, Faith will task you with exploring everything from haunted forests to abandoned churches and Satanic cults in an effort to prevent something truly evil from taking root in our world.

All of this is portrayed through surprisingly goofy 8-bit artwork which, ironically enough, only seems to make the whole descent into madness feel even more eerie. But enough of my prattling, allow me to share with you one of the trailers for the very first episode. That should instantly let you know just what Faith is really all about. Have a gander:

[Update]: If you're itching for even more turn-based goodness, it's well worth mentioning that the Octopath Traveler studio has just released the Final Fantasy Tactics inspired Triangle Strategy onto PC!

Much like the Fire Emblem series from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, the freshly released Lost Eidolons is a strategy game that puts heavy emphasis on both storytelling and combat. What this means is that in between all of the challenging turn-based battles you'll also have to work on building up your camp, training your squad, as well as earning the trust of your numerous companions.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the launch trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of just what Lost Eidolons looks and plays like. Have a gander, it's quite an interesting one:

Minecraft's strategy and exploration focused spin-off Minecraft Legends will be launching in Spring 2023

Minecraft Legends artwork for Minecraft's action-strategy spin-off

[Update]: Minecraft Legends has now arrived, and unfortunately it's a bit mediocre.

It took quite a while for Mojang to get settled in under Microsoft, but the wait was well worth it as Minecraft is going through a bit of renaissance right now. Not only is the main game getting more and more quality updates, but Mojang has also given other developers a chance to tell their own unique stories in the Minecraft universe through spin-off games.

The most intriguing of these spin-offs is the upcoming Minecraft Legends which will attempt to transform Minecraft into a real-time strategy game where you'll have to form alliances, scour the land in search of resources, and eventually mount up in order to personally lead and fight alongside your mighty army! What this looks like in action, that you can get a little bit of a sneak peek at through the announcement trailer below. Have a gander:

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord has added Steam Workshop mod support a week ahead of launch

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord official artwork

While both the original game and Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord are a nice bit of fun all on their own, it's the absurd amount of quality mods that gives these games such an immense amount of replay value. As such, I'm very pleased to say that Bannerlord's latest and likely final pre-release update has now enabled Steam Workshop support!

If you're unfamiliar with the system, the Steam Workshop essentially gives you the ability to easily look up and download the mods that interest you, on top of making it simple for mod creators to upload and maintain their work. So even though modding has been a thing in Bannerlord for quite a while now, the addition of the Steam Workshop should make things a whole lot smoother for everyone involved.

Artwork for Episode 1 of Cultic - a boomer shooter heavily inspired by Bood

If you're a fan of boomer shooters and if the idea of chucking bundles of dynamite at cultists sounds like a jolly good time, the freshly released Cultic should be right up your alley! To put it quite simply, Cultic is a Blood inspired retro-FPS that's all about using mid-century firearms, explosives and nasty traps to dispatch hordes upon hordes of evil cultists.

Since trying to describe these types of games through words alone is a bit of a wasted effort, allow me to share with you the launch trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of the sort of atmosphere Cultic is going for, as well as how bombastic the action really gets. Have a gander:
