I don't know what exactly happened to warrant this, but I'm happy to say that turn-based tactics games have suddenly started sprouting up on PC again! So between the Fire Emblem: Three Houses inspired Lost Eidolons and the freshly released' Triangle Strategy from the Octopath Traveler studio, you should have more than enough turn-based goodness to keep you entertained for a long time to come!

Much like Final Fantasy Tactics from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, Triangle Strategy is an intriguing mixture of a story-focused JRPG and a challenging turn-based tactics game. As such, besides fighting you'll also  have to make a variety of choices throughout your travels that will dictate your character's worldview and the sort of allies that will join your cause.

Whatever crew you end up with, you'll definitely want to train them up and get on their good side as many of the important decisions will be done through a voting system. Needless to say, the more allies you can convince to side with you and your ideology, the bigger your impact on the progress of the story will be.

What all of this looks like in action, as well as what sort of story Triangle Strategy is even going for, that you can check out through the lengthy gameplay trailer below. Have a look:

As for its actual quality, that I can't speak about from experience as I haven't played it yet, but judging by the reception so far it seems like Triangle Strategy is a solid albeit expensive turn-based tactics game. So if you're planning to dive in, I'd highly recommend first checking out some raw gameplay on Youtube to make sure this really is the type of strategy game you'd enjoy. It's a bit of a hassle, but I think you'll agree that it's a whole lot better than shelling out 60€ for a game that might not be up your alley.

Whatever your decision may be, you can learn a little bit more about Triangle Strategy and its world over at Steam. Enjoy!
