Konami has announced four new Silent Hill games, as well as a Silent Hill 2 inspired movie

After Konami's recent teaser I speculated that the big announcement would either be a remake of one of the original games or, more likely, the grand reveal of a brand new project that has supposedly been in development for quite a few years now. As it turns out, it's all of that and more!
Not only is Silent Hill 2 getting a modern remake, but there are also two new 'proper' Silent Hill games currently in development, on top of a multiplayer and streaming focused one. Oh, and if that just isn't enough Silent Hill for you, there's also a third Silent Hill movie in the works! Here's a brief rundown of what each project is all about:
Total War: Warhammer 3's Update 2.2 has improved the AI and reduced the number of settlement battles

[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 3 has made the Immortal Empires combined campaign map free for all owners!
[Update]: Total War: Warhammer 3's Update 2.3 has added new landmarks, tied AI behavior to difficulty, and rebalanced most factions.
Back in August Total War: Warhammer 3's Update 2.0 brought with it an absurdly massive amount of new content and balance changes to toy around with. This list of new additions includes the Immortal Empires combined campaign map, a new DLC featuring four powerful Chaos champions, a full rework of the Warriors of Chaos faction, the long-awaited arrival of blood & gore effects, a large swathe of tweaks for old legendary lords and factions, and the list keep going for a while.
With all of that in mind, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to hear that Update 2.0 also brought with it a whole assortment of bugs and problems. Creative Assembly squashed some of the more pressing ones back in September with Update 2.1, and now it's time for the freshly unleashed Update 2.2 to pick up where its predecessor left off and sort out another batch of major problems.
The base version of The Sims 4 is now entirely free-to-play on both PC and consoles

If you're curious about The Sims 4 and yet you've somehow managed to avoid giving it a try after all of these years, consider today your lucky day! I say this because EA and Maxis have just made the base version of The Sims 4 free to play!
This means you can create a unique character, customize their house, have them engage in a variety of activities and most likely ruin their life in the process without spending even a single dime. Naturally, the one big catch is that none of the DLCs have been included with the free version. So if you ever get tired of the vanilla experience and want to expand your world, you'll have to individually buy some of the many, many, many pieces of DLC.

[Update #2]: Wintersday has only just ended, and already Guild Wars 2 is looking to start the Lunar New Year 2023 festival!
[Update]: Guild Wars 2's late November update rebalanced many underperforming classes with endgame PvE and PvP in mind.
Continuing with their yearly tradition, the Guild Wars 2 team has now unleashed the highly popular Shadow of the Mad King festival. As you would expect from a Halloween update, Shadow of the Mad King has brought with it a variety of cosmetics and decorations to collect, the Mad King's Labyrinth to farm for all sorts of goodies, a nasty yet satisfying jumping puzzle to overcome, and even a couple of achievements to complete on the side if you want extra rewards.
What some of this looks like in action, as well as what sort of atmosphere Shadow of the Mad King is going for, that you can find out through the rather goofy trailer below. Have a little peek:

[Update #2]: Vampire Survivors devs have revealed their plans for 2023, including new content and an engine upgrade.
[Update]: Vampire Survivors' Legacy of the Moonspell expansion has now arrived with a massive new map, 8 characters and 13 weapons.
After an absurd amount of updates that have brought in everything from new characters to new enemies, maps, weapons and gameplay mechanics, Vampire Survivors has now finally been unleashed from Early Access. Unsurprisingly, it has done so alongside yet another chunky batch of new content!
You can expect to see new skins for a variety of characters, an Inverse Mode that flips the stages upside down while beefing up the enemies, as well as an Endless Mode that removes the run-ending Reaper in favor of swarming you with an ever-increasing barrage of enemies. Oh, and appropriately enough, there's also a new weapon called the Greatest Jubilee that shoots out fireworks!

While it might not be as Halloween themed as last week's Darkwood giveaway, I'm still happy to say that Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition is currently free to grab! All you have to do is head on over to the Epic Games Store, add Fallout 3 to your account and you'll be good to go.
As always, the only catch is that there is a bit of a time limit. So whether you're planning to play it right now or somewhere down the line, make sure to unlock Fallout 3 for your account before the giveaway goes away on October 27th. And since you're already there, make sure to grab Shiro Games' Evoland RPGs as they are entirely free as well.
Overwatch 2's Halloween Terror event is coming on October 25th with a brand new PvE game mode

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2's first balance update has arrived with nerfs to Zarya, Genji, Sombra, as well as Junkrat for some reason.
[Update]: Overwatch 2's Halloween Terror update has now arrived alongside a brand new co-op mission and sadly only three new legendary skins.
While the details are few and far between, Overwatch 2's long-awaited PvE experiences" will finally start appearing in early 2023. However, if you don't feel like waiting all that long in order to get in on some co-op action, you'll be happy to hear that the upcoming Halloween Terror event will bring with it a sequel to the highly popular and PvE focused Junkenstein's Revenge game mode!
Blizzard is currently keeping things under wraps so if you're looking for an exact description of what's coming, I'm afraid you're out of luck. That said, given some of the recent rumors it's fairly likely this will be a more elaborate version of the original game mode featuring not only more enemies, but more complex ones ones as well. How true these rumors really are, that I suppose we'll find out soon enough as the Halloween Terror festivities will begin on October 25th, 2022!
