[Update #2]: MTG Arena's The Brothers' War expansion has now arrived with a ton of new and retro artifacts in tow.

[Update]: I have some excellent news to share! The Brother's War expansion will be massively increasing the amount of Rare and Mythic cards given to players!

I hope you're in the mood for some fancy artifacts, as there's undoubtedly going to be an absolute ton of them in MTG Arena's next big Standard expansion - The Brother's War. You can expect to see it land onto MTG Arena on November 15th, while the tabletop version will be unleashed a few days later, on November 18th.

The exact list of new and returning mechanics has still not been announced, though I can tell you that Meld and Unearth will be two of them. The first, true to its name, allows you to combine two cards into a significantly stronger one - in this case to showcase the incredible power wielded by both Urza and Mishra. Unearth on the other hand allows you to return a creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with haste, though it won't stick around for long as it'll get exiled at the end of the turn or if it leaves the battlefield.

What some of these ideas and mechanics look like on actual cards, that you can check out at the card gallery. It's a little bit sparse right now, but once the spoiler season begins it should be updated daily with all of the new reveals.

The final thing worth mentioning is that, much like Strixhaven and its Mystical Archives, The Brother's War will come with a series of classic artifacts from Magic's historic. Once again the details are few and far between, but you can expect to see fan-favorite like Wurmcoil Engine alongside some less exciting, but still handy to have artifacts like Lodestone Golem.
