Quake Champions will be getting an official comic book series this August

Quake Champions is Bethesda and id Software's upcoming return to oldschool FPS sensibilities. In others words, instead of slow and realistic gameplay the focus will be firmly placed on fast-paced combat, a wide variety of overpowered weapons, advanced movement mechanics such as rocketjumping, and pretty much everything else you might remember from Quake 3: Arena. The one big difference is that Quake Champions's primary game mode will feature a variety of different champions, each one with their own unique benefits and abilities. If this is something that bothers you, worry not as there will be a purist game mode specifically designed for competition.

Now that you know Quake Champions is all about running really fast and carving all of your opponents into very tiny pieces, I have a bit of a strange announcement. Apparently Quake Champions will be getting an official comic book series, and yes, this does include having a proper story!

World of Warcraft devs have released a raid preview for the Tomb of Sargeras showcasing all of the bosses

World of Warcraft's relatively recent Update 7.2 has brought with it the Broken Shore and a whole bunch of new world quests based around fighting the Burning Legion. All of these efforts will soon be reaching their climax as the Tomb of Sargeras will open in the near future, giving everyone a chance to shove a fireball straight down Kil'Jaeden's overly-pompous throat.

But before the raid is even open Blizzard has decided to give us a brief look at what exactly the Tomb of Sargeras is all about, and what sort of bosses we'll be fighting inside of it. There is a fair bit of lore and developer insight to dive into, so if you have a bit of free time make sure to visit the official website. If you're just interested in what the bosses look like, however, i'll add the images down below.

GOG is holding an RPG sale with the standout deal being the Witcher 3: GOTY Edition at 50% off

The Witcher 3's Geralt and Yennefer

If you currently have some free time and a bit of extra money, and you would like to completely reverse the situation, you might want to check out the ongoing GOG RPG sale. You can grab Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, Shadowrun, the old Deus Ex games, and a couple of others at a rather steep discount, but also the Witcher 3: GOTY Edition for 50% off!

While all of these games are great, besides Deus Ex 2: Invisible War anyway, the standout deal of the entire sale is definitely the Witcher 3 and its DLC. It features the very best writing and quest design I've ever seen in an open world game, a genuinely enjoyable story with some likable characters to accompany you, and enough content to make you miss out on the next few months of AAA releases. Long story short, its a damn good game, and if you haven't already played it I would heartily recommend you do just that.

If you ever wanted to give Overwatch a try, but didn't feel like spending €40 for the opportunity, you'll be glad to hear that the free weekend has now begun. You can find a download link and detailed instructions over at the Blizzard website, and I would recommend you head over there as soon as possible given that the free weekend will end on May 29th.

During the free weekend you will have access to the entirety of Overwatch: all of the heroes, all of the maps, all of the custom game modes, as well as all of the Anniversary Update cosmetics. And naturally, should you decide to buy Overwatch at any point in the future all of your cosmetic unlocks and experience will carry over.

The complex factory building and management sim Factorio has now sold over one million copies

[Update]: After nearly a decade in development, Factorio has now finally been released!

Today appears to be an extremely good day for indie developers as not one, but two entirely different games have managed to reach the immensely impressive "1 million copies sold" milestone. The first one is Grim Dawn, a Titan Quest inspired action RPG, while the second one is obviously Factorio - a complex building and management sim that allows you to create and automate some truly monstrous feats of engineering.

I could briefly go over what Factorio is all about, but the developers have created an amazing video showcasing and explaining pretty much every aspect of gameplay, so I think its probably for the best you check that out instead. So have a look, its well worth the few minutes it'll take you to watch:

Far Cry 5's release date has been revealed alongside a new announcement trailer

Far Cry 5 official promo artwork

After a couple of teasers and a whole bunch of leaks Ubisoft has now finally spilled the beans on Far Cry 5. Given that the rumors have correctly predicted most of the plot it probably won't come as much of a surprise to hear that we'll be heading into rural Montana in order to stop a fanatical doomsday cult from taking the entire county by force. What might come as quite a surprise, however, is that Far Cry 5 will allow you to have specialized animals like bears and cougars as companions in your missions. And yes, you read that correctly - you can apparently tame a bear!

While the recently posted announcement trailer only shows the barest glimpses of said bear, it should at least give you a pretty damn good idea of just what kind of tone Far Cry 5 is going for. Have a look:

The Overwatch devs have said they are aware of community complaints about Loot Boxes and the report system

The Overwatch Anniversary Update arrived recently with a whole bunch of new legendary skins, one of which is an awesome Power Ranger Genji suit, as well as dance emotes for every single hero. What initially started off as pure excitement quickly turned into disappointment and anger, however, as the long-awaited dance emotes were not added to the base game like the previous sit and laugh ones, but were instead all piled into the short-lived Anniversary Loot Boxes.

When you combine this with the astronomical chance of getting a specific item from the over-bloated Loot Boxes, as well as the fact that gold gains are completely abysmal when compared to item prices, its easy to see why the Overwatch community is in such an uproar over this. While I wish I can tell you the developers are working on a solution, I'm afraid the only thing I can offer is the assurance that they are at least listening to the complaints, as noted by Jeff Kaplan on the Overwatch forums:
