Perception, an indie horror game starring a blind protagonist, is set to release tomorrow

As far as horror concepts goes, Perception offers one of the most unique premises I've come across in quite a while. Our protagonist is a blind woman named Cassie who has to solve an ancient mystery entirely based on her sense of hearing! Since a completely pitch-black game wouldn't go over very well with critics and players alike you do actually get to see what the world in Perception looks like, but its all distorted and unsettling.

Trying to explain this through words alone is nearly impossible, so allow me to share with you the story trailer. It'll give you a decent idea of what Perception is all about, and most importantly, what the world looks like. Here's the video:

Iron Wings is an upcoming air combat game set amidst the most interesting events of World War 2

Iron Wings gameplay screenshot

Iron Wings is an upcoming singleplayer air combat game exploring some of the most interesting events and combat operations of World War 2. You will be taking on the roles of two pilots, Jack and Amelia, as they attempt to fight against the Nazi threat across a variety of campaign missions, each with their own objectives and twists on gameplay.

Before I say anything else it would probably be a good idea for you to check out what the gameplay looks like. As such, here's the recently posted trailer showing our character flying over 1941 New York. There is absolutely no action in the video, as you would expect given the location, but it will give you a good idea of what type of gameplay Iron Wings is going for. Have a look:

For those of you that don't know much about Stellaris or what its even about, allow me to share with you the launch trailer. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it will give you a good idea of what kind of game you're getting into. Have a look:

The combat-focused and rather stylish RPG Absolver will be arriving in August

Absolver screenshot of a close quarters battle

Absolver is a bit of a weird game. Its an online combat RPG with a heavy focus on fluid melee battles, though more alike a fighting game than any standard RPG. However, instead of using predefined skills like in a fighting game, your character in Absolver can be customized to a massive extent with new combos, attacks, abilities, and even ways of blocking enemy attack. As I said, its a bit of weird game, but its definitely an interesting one!

In order to show how exactly the dueling system works the developers have recently posted a video detailing the three beginning combat styles. As you might expect, each one has a lot of interesting things going for it, as well as plenty of room for future improvements. But rather than just watch me babble, watch the video instead:

Payday 2 devs will soon be rolling all DLCs into an Ultimate Edition, while all future updates will be completely free

Payday 2 screenshot of Deathwish enemies

I have spent over 100 hours playing Payday 2 and during my time I have bought quite a few pieces of DLC, yet even still there are a whole bunch of content packs that I do not own. As such, I am very glad to say that the Payday 2 devs have announced that all of the DLC will be rolled into an Ultimate Edition, while all future updates will be completely free!

All of this will come as a part of the June 8th update, but if you would like to pick and choose some of the DLC before the Ultimate Edition bundle even arrives, you can do so at an 85% discount. A pretty damn good deal, especially if you have a couple of friends playing with you so that you can each buy one or two of the map packs (they are shared). Just keep in mind that buying all of the DLC is much, much more expensive than buying the Ultimate Edition upgrade, so only do this if you want a couple of pieces.

Overwatch devs are looking into the recently introduced bug with Reinhardt's hammer

Reinhardt from Overwatch

The Overwatch Anniversary Update arrived a couple of days ago with a whole bunch of new cosmetics, but more importantly, a whole bunch of balance changes as well. Unfortunately, besides a nerf to Earthshatter the update also brought with it a rather significant bug relating to Reinhardt's hammer. Instead of the damage registering when the hammer is half-way across the screen, it now only registers when the entire swing has been completed, which as you might imagine feels incredibly weird and unresponsive.

Thankfully, Overwatch's Bill Warnecke came out earlier today to say that the change is most likely unintentional and that the developers will dig into the problem. Here's the full quote:

Risk of Rain 2 will be switching from its classic 2D to purely 3D action

Risk of Rain official artwork without logo

The original Risk of Rain is a 2D action platformer with some roguelike elements thrown into the mix. Ever since its release it has garnered a massive amount of positive reviews, and for good reason as the gameplay itself is just pure fun. As such, it probably wont come as much of a surprise to hear that Risk of Rain 2 has been announced.

What might come as a surprise, however, is that Risk of Rain 2 will be done entirely in 3D! Its still early in development so all of the details are a bit shaky, but the important thing to keep in mind is that it will follow the same sort of ideals as the original. In other words, expect plenty of fast-paced action with some of your favorite characters from the original.
