World of Warcraft's Senior PvP Designer Brian Holinka has moved on to another game project within Blizzard

World of Warcraft's Goblin delivering some news

In an announcement that will come as a bit of a surprise to some, and as a massive relief to others, World of Warcraft's Senior PvP Designer Brian Holinka has left his position to join another project within Blizzard. What exactly this project will be, nobody knows right now, but it is slowly gathering some of Blizzard's most senior developers, so I'm guessing its going to be a rather massive new game.

While I personally have nothing against Holinka I am genuinely glad he has moved on to a different position within Blizzard. World of Warcraft's PvP scene has been dying for years now, constantly competing with much more PvP orientated games like Dota or CS:GO, so a breath of fresh air might just be what World of Warcraft needs.

After many weeks of rumors and dark clouds hanging over the future of the Hitman series Square Enix and IO Interactive have finally come to an arrangement. As of today IO Interactive is a fully independent studio, and perhaps most importantly of all, they have retained all of the rights to the Hitman IP!

What exactly this mean for the future of the series, I'm afraid that's not an easy question to answer, but IOI appears to be quite optimistic about their chances. Here's the full quote from the announcement:

The preliminary patch notes for Final Fantasy 14's upcoming Stormblood expansion have been revealed

Final Fantasy 14's Stormblood expansion is poised to bring with it an entire game's worth of new content, a level cap increase, new raids and dungeons, a reworked battle and inventory system, and the list goes on for quite a while. But perhaps most importantly of all, at least as far as gameplay is concerned, are the new and extremely flashy jobs (read classes): Red Mage and Samurai.

In order to prepare everyone for what is to come the developers have released the preliminary patch notes for Stormblood... and they are ridiculously massive! I would usually go through all of them and pick out a couple to showcase the update's direction, but there are simply far too many changes to even attempt such a thing. As such, if you're interested in all of the details and you have plenty of coffee at hand, you'll find what you seek at the official website.

King of Fighters XIV has now arrived on Steam alongside a couple of free costumes

[Update]: King of Fighters XV will be launching onto PC and consoles in early 2022.

After being available on the PS4 for quite a while now King of Fighters XIV has finally made its way to Steam as well. Unfortunately, the developers have chosen the worst possible release date as they are currently competing with both Tekken 7 and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, both of which have received overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Competitors aside, if you're wondering what exactly the PC version of King of Fighters XIV brings to the table you'll find the recently posted launch trailer right below. It should give you a pretty good idea of just what kind of fighting game you're getting into. Have a look:

The most popular GTA modding tool OpenIV has been shut down by Take-Two

OpenIV is an incredibly powerful and popular modding tool that was used to create mods for the Grand Theft Auto series for nearly a decade now. Unfortunately, it would appear that its long reign has now finally ended as Take-Two Interactive has sent the developers a very serious (and very poorly written) cease and desist letter.

The lead developer behind OpenIV, GooD-NTS, released a brief statement explaining the whole situation. Long story short, there is no way a couple of modders can fight a giant company even though they believe the accusations leveled against them are baseless, so OpenIV sadly has to go. Epic's upcoming "action building game" Fortnite will be launching in early access in late July

If you've ever built a gigantic fort in Minecraft and then wished the monsters were actually capable of assaulting it, you might want to pay attention to the upcoming Fortnite as it embodies exactly that concept. You need to scavenge for materials and weapons, craft a variety of traps and fortifications, and then attempt to survive absolutely massive waves of monsters that would love nothing more than to tear all of your toys apart.

Rather than waste your time by explain all of this in detail, allow me to instead share the recently posted gameplay trailer. It goes over pretty much everything Fortnite has to offer, from the random run & gun gameplay to the process of building your very own Fort Kickass. Have a look, its well worth the few minutes:

Paradox has just released DLC packs for both Europa Universalis IV and Hearts of Iron IV

By Ash

Europa Universalis IV and Hearts of Iron IV DLC artwork

In a bit of a strange move Paradox has just released two DLC packs for two of their most prominent grand strategy games. Europa Universalis IV has received Third Rome, a new "immersion pack" that adds a bunch of gameplay features and content for the Russian Empire, while Hearts of Iron IV has received Death or Dishonor, a new country pack that brings with it Romania, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and Yugoslavia.

Individually each pack will set you back $10, but if you're a massive fan of grand strategy games and would like to grab both they can also be bought a slight discount, $18 to be specific. If you're wondering what exactly each of the packs bring to the table, here are their recently posted trailers and lists of features, starting with Hearts of Iron IV:
