The long-awaited Darksiders 3 will be coming to PC and consoles in 2018
- By Ash
- in News
Despite the somewhat disappointing Darksiders 2 I am very glad to say that Darksiders 3 has recently been announced and already pinned for a 2018 release! As you might expect, we will not be playing with either War or Death, but rather one of the other four horseman of the apocalypse. This time around we will be joining Fury in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins in an effort to bring balanced to the now completely ravaged and 'human-less' Earth.
One of the benefits of being slightly late with this announcement is that the developers have by now shared a rather considerable amount of early gameplay with IGN. So if you're interested in seeing what Fury looks like in action you'll find the video right below. Just bear in mind that this is early alpha gameplay! That said, here's the video:
Payday developer Overkill has postponed their The Walking Dead FPS to 2018
- By Ash
- in News
For those of you that might not be aware, and I wouldn't blame you if you weren't, Payday developer Overkill Software announced their The Walking Dead themed FPS all the way back in the ancient times of 2014. Ever since then the project's release date has been constantly pushed back, and the game itself pretty much forgotten by the general public.
As such, you might actually be surprised to hear that Overkill's The Walking Dead has been postponed once more, this time to the second half of 2018. I'm honestly impressed the game is even still in development given its history, but I guess Starbreeze and Overkill have a lot of faith in it. As is tradition the announcement brought with it no information about the game itself, but if nothing else we at least know that its still in the works!
Vanquish devs have released a beta patch in order to correct the various framerate glitches
- By Ash
- in News
The PC version of Vanquish is by all accounts a great port, but it does suffer from a couple of issues. Much like the majority of games that were never designed for uncapped frame rates, Vanquish starts getting a little bit weird at higher FPS. In gameplay terms this means that some players have drastically reduced health regeneration, while at the same time a much smaller invincibility window, which as you would expect makes the game ridiculously hard in all the wrong ways.
Thankfully, there is a beta patch available. There is currently a holiday in the UK so the developers didn't have time to thoroughly test it, but if you're suffering from these types of issues you might as well check it out given that the reception is so far extremely positive. As for what exactly the patch changes, here's the full list:
Perception, an indie horror game starring a blind protagonist, is set to release tomorrow
- By Ash

As far as horror concepts goes, Perception offers one of the most unique premises I've come across in quite a while. Our protagonist is a blind woman named Cassie who has to solve an ancient mystery entirely based on her sense of hearing! Since a completely pitch-black game wouldn't go over very well with critics and players alike you do actually get to see what the world in Perception looks like, but its all distorted and unsettling.
Trying to explain this through words alone is nearly impossible, so allow me to share with you the story trailer. It'll give you a decent idea of what Perception is all about, and most importantly, what the world looks like. Here's the video:
Iron Wings is an upcoming air combat game set amidst the most interesting events of World War 2
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Iron Wings is an upcoming singleplayer air combat game exploring some of the most interesting events and combat operations of World War 2. You will be taking on the roles of two pilots, Jack and Amelia, as they attempt to fight against the Nazi threat across a variety of campaign missions, each with their own objectives and twists on gameplay.
Before I say anything else it would probably be a good idea for you to check out what the gameplay looks like. As such, here's the recently posted trailer showing our character flying over 1941 New York. There is absolutely no action in the video, as you would expect given the location, but it will give you a good idea of what type of gameplay Iron Wings is going for. Have a look:
You have 5 more days to grab Stellaris for $12 via the Humble Monthly Bundle
- By Ash
- in News
The Humble Monthly Bundle is a $12 monthly subscription service that instantly gets you access to one game (Stellaris this time around), along with a bunch of other games that will be revealed early next month. Stellaris alone is currently €40 on Steam, so if you're interested in picking up a new grand strategy game you really can't do wrong by snatching up this month's bundle - its just that insane of a deal!
For those of you that don't know much about Stellaris or what its even about, allow me to share with you the launch trailer. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it will give you a good idea of what kind of game you're getting into. Have a look:
The combat-focused and rather stylish RPG Absolver will be arriving in August
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Absolver is a bit of a weird game. Its an online combat RPG with a heavy focus on fluid melee battles, though more alike a fighting game than any standard RPG. However, instead of using predefined skills like in a fighting game, your character in Absolver can be customized to a massive extent with new combos, attacks, abilities, and even ways of blocking enemy attack. As I said, its a bit of weird game, but its definitely an interesting one!
In order to show how exactly the dueling system works the developers have recently posted a video detailing the three beginning combat styles. As you might expect, each one has a lot of interesting things going for it, as well as plenty of room for future improvements. But rather than just watch me babble, watch the video instead:
