[Update #2]: Vermintide 2 has added three lengthy (and free) maps based on the original's Karak Azgaraz DLC.

[Update]: Vermintide 2's Tower of Treachery update has added a new map with a fun surprise at the end.

If you're a fan of co-op games, or just slicing and dicing your way through hundreds upon hundreds of enemies, you'll be happy to hear that the truly excellent Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is currently free to try out on Steam. The free weekend will run until Monday, March 13th, after which you'll still be able to grab Vermintide 2 at a sizable 80% discount until March 16th.

In order to help new players catch up, or just give veterans a chance to level up another character, Fatshark has also tripled the amount of experience you can gain in each mission. This buff will last until March 19th, which should give you more than enough time to experiment with different characters and builds.

Overwatch 2 has launched a One-Punch Man crossover event alongside a small balance update

Overwatch 2 One-Punch Man crossover event skin for Doomfist - Saitama

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2 will be adding the highly mobile support hero Lifeweaver with the Season 4 update.

[Update]: Overwatch 2's has launched a new Pachimari themed game mode alongside a couple of new cosmetics.

The Overwatch team has done a couple of crossovers and homages before with skins like Lego Bastion, but for the most part Blizzard has stuck to their own games for inspiration. However, with the latest update, they have decided to try something a little bit out of the ordinary.

As such, instead of simply being inspired by pop culture icons, Overwatch 2 has now teamed up with One-Punch Man to release official crossover skins. The four in question are: Saitama Doomfist, Terrible Tornado Kiriko, Genos Genji and Mumen Rider Soldier 76.

Dota 2's Patch 7.32e has arrived with Muerta and surprisingly small batch of balance changes

[Update #2]: Dota 2 is getting rid of its Battle Pass and instead focusing on more frequent updates.

[Update]: Dota 2's gigantic Update 7.33 has greatly expanded the map, reworked core mechanics and rebalanced just about everything.

After a few rounds of teasers, Valve has now finally unleashed Dota 2's newest ranged hero - the ghostly gunslinger Muerta. As you would expect from that description alone, Muerta is a carry style hero that's all about shooting enemies in a variety of creative ways, to the point that even her ultimate is all about enhancing her ability to shoot someone in the face. It's a fairly simple yet effective design, so I have no doubt that Muerta will easily fit in among the Dota 2 roster.

As for the actual update itself, I'm a bit surprised to say that there isn't anything major to talk about. The meta heroes like Lina and Nature's Prophet have gotten a couple of nerfs, underplayed heroes like Axe and Clinkz are now slightly stronger, the fairly casual Turbo Mode has received some much-needed improvements, and that's pretty much it. The rest of the changes are just very, very, very small tweaks to most of the roster and items, things like Pudge dealing 5 less damage with his Aghanim's Scepter Rot ability.

MTG Arena official artwork for The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth expansion

[Update #2]: The Tales of Middle-earth expansion has now arrived, and unsurprisingly, it's quite flavorful!

[Update]: All cards for MTG Arena's The Lord of the Rings crossover set have now been revealed.

Given the popularity of the two recent Dungeons & Dragons inspired crossover sets, it should come as little surprise to hear that Wizards of the Coast has decided to do another one. However, instead of going with Dungeons & Dragons for the third time in a row, the upcoming expansion is entirely themed around The Lord of The Rings!

Once it arrives this June 20th, The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set will bring with it a wide assortment of new cards to mess around with for both the Historic and Alchemy formats. While the cards themselves have not been officially revealed just yet, the few that have been leaked (and quickly deleted) showcase some reimagined character designs as well as a middling power level. Whether the leak is actually real or simply an elaborate fabrication, however, that we'll have to wait and see.

Darkest Dungeon 2 official artwork and logo for the turn-based tactics roguelike

[Update]: After two years in Early Access, Darkest Dungeon 2 has now been unleashed in all of its 3D glory!

After spending a bit over a year in Early Access, the roguelike turn-based tactics game Darkest Dungeon 2 is now slowly getting ready to release in full. So if you're in the mood for watching all of your favorite characters get sliced up by eldritch abominations, make sure to mark May 8th on your calendar as that's when Darkest Dungeon 2 will be launching onto both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In terms of gameplay, Darkest Dungeon 2 follows a very similar formula as its predecessor, though it's by no means a simple copy. The visuals have been improved and are now 3D, there is a much greater focus on lengthier expeditions that will have you make a variety of difficult choices along the way, your characters can now form friendships or rivalries, and there's been all sorts of tweaks to the underlying gameplay mechanics in order to make things flow a bit better.

Deep Rock Galactic artwork for the fifth anniversary update

[Update]: Deep Rock Galactic's Season 4 has arrived with new enemies, boss, jet boots, and an arcade cabinet.

In celebration of their fifth anniversary, the Deep Rock Galactic team has now unleashed a festive update for everyone to enjoy. The Space Rig has been decorated with balloons, confetti and all sorts of plastic nonsense, the missions now come with an optional objective to double the amount of Performance Points you can earn, and as is tradition, there's also a snazzy new hat to acquire by completing the special anniversary assignment.

However, that's not all! In order to make this an anniversary worth remembering, the Deep Rock Galactic crew has now also re-released the classic 2018 version of the game as a limited time event! It's a bit dated and rough around the edges, but also a nice bit of fun, as well as an excellent showcase of just how far Deep Rock Galactic has managed to come since the early days.

[Update #2]: It gets stranger! PowerWash Simulator is getting a VR version and Warhammer 40k crossover in 2023.

[Update]: PowerWash Simulator's first actual DLC will be a SpongeBob crossover, of all things.

After launching a Lara Croft themed crossover back in January, the PowerWash Simulator team has now returned with another bizarre yet amusing update. This time around you'll be cleaning, or just making a sloppy mess out of, five small Final Fantasy VII themed levels: Hardy Daytona and Shinra Hauler(1 job), Scorpion Sentinel, Seventh Heaven, Mako Energy Exhibit and Airbuster.

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the brief launch trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of what exactly these locations look like and what sort of doodads you'll be able to mess around with. Have a peek:
