After being leaked a rather impressive amount of times, Bethesda has recently come out with the official announcement for Rage 2. As you might expect given the original Rage, the sequel is going to be a first-person shooter set in a dystopian future, though thankfully this future won't be a gray and boring one. Instead, Rage 2 is going to be all about fast-paced gameplay, colorful levels, and ridiculously over-the-top kills.

Since trying to explain this through words alone is a bit of a pointless task, allow me to share with you two of the recently posted gameplay trailers. They'll give you a pretty darn good idea of just what Rage 2 is and whether it's the sort of thing you'd even enjoy. Have a look, they're quite fun videos:

If you've managed to miss the recent Quake Champions free weekend, you're in luck as the developers have just announced a lengthy extension! So if you're up for some oldschool arena carnage simply head on over to Steam, click on that green "Install Game" button, and you'll be tearing your enemies into tiny little giblets in no time.

It's also worth mentioning that if you log in before June 25th you will be able to keep playing even after the free weekend is over. You will only have access to the basic champions and you'll need to acquire the rest through in-game currency, but all of the important gameplay stuff will be available to you from the very beginning, so I'd say it's definitely worth checking out.

After a rather lengthy hiatus since Soulcalibur V's 2012 release date, the classic fighting game series is now just about ready to make its hopefully triumphant return. According to the most recent story trailer, Soulcalbur VI will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this October 19th.

While the story itself should be fairly self-explanatory at this point, you'll find the recently posted and rather action-packed trailer right below. Have a look, it's quite entertaining in a cheesy sort of way:

  • Fighting Game
  • Soul Calibur 6
  • E3 2018

If you ever wanted to give the Life is Strange series a try, now would be a very good time to do so! For the next two days both the original Life is Strange and its prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm are going to be on a deep discount on Steam, so if you're even remotely interested I would highly recommend you give them a shot.

For those of you that might not even know what Life is Strange is all about, allow me to share the original launch trailer. It's a little bit on the cheesy side, but I think it does a pretty good job of setting up the story and characters. Have a look:

Doom Eternal, a direct sequel to the modern Doom, has now been announced

[Update]: Doom Eternal's latest gameplay trailer highlights the new weapons and storylines.

While Doom 2016's multiplayer is a bit on the mediocre side, the singleplayer campaign is a perfect example of how to take an oldschool gameplay formula and recreate it for our modern world. With that in mind, I am very glad to say that Bethesda has recently announced Doom Eternal, a direct sequel to Doom 2016!

There aren't that many details available just yet, but you can expect to see a whole bunch of new weapons to use against a variety of new and classic demons, large maps to scour for pickups and secrets, and just as importantly, a brand new soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon. If you're interested in a small peek at what all of this might look like, you'll find the freshly posted E3 trailer right below. Have a look:

  • Doom
  • E3 2018

[Update #2]: Bethesda's space exploration game Starfield has now arrived alongside a massive amount of praise.

[Update]: Bethesda's Starfield and Arkane's Redfall have been pushed back to the first half of 2023.

In a bit of a surprise announcement, Bethesda has recently revealed that they are working on a major new game called Starfield. Absolutely no details have been given about the gameplay or story, but if earlier leaks are to be trusted then Starfield is going to be a classic Bethesda RPG with a space theme and the ability to visit various planets at will. Whether any of that is true or not, that still remains to be seen, but it's certainly the sort of game I can see Bethesda diving into.

If you're interested in seeing what sort of tone and visuals Bethesda is gunning for with Starfield, allow me to share with you the brief E3 teaser. Have a look, though don't expect to see any sort of gameplay:

  • E3 2018

The Elder Scrolls Online screenshot from Summerset

Even though it launched with more bugs than the swamps of Morrowind, The Elder Scrolls Online has slowly but surely transformed itself into quite an enjoyable and successful MMORPG. In fact, ESO just recently received the major Summerset expansion, bringing with it a whole bunch of new content and storylines to explore. So if you ever wanted to give it a try, now would be a pretty darn good time to do so.

If you're curious about what exactly ESO has to offer, as well as what the newly added High Elf homeland of Summerset looks like, you should check out the latest E3 trailer. It's pretty much a celebration of everything ESO and its players have managed to accomplish over the course of the four years it has been active, so I'd say it's well worth a watch:
