Steam's 2018 Summer Sale is set to begin tomorrow, on June 21st

Gaben as the prophet of sales

If you currently have a bit of free time and some extra money, and you wish to quickly change that situation, you'll be glad to hear that the massive Steam Summer Sale is just around the corner. To be more specific, it's set to begin tomorrow, on June 21st!

This information comes to us from Steam Database on Twitter, meaning that it hasn't been officially confirmed just yet. That said, last year's Summer Sale started on June 21st and we've already had multiple leaks pointing towards June 21st being the date for this year's sale as well, so I do believe that this 'rumor' is about as credible as it can possibly be.

Total War: Warhammer 2's upcoming update is adding a new Dark Elf monster (Kharibdyss) and a bunch of balance changes

Total War: Warhammer 2 official screenshot of the new Kharibdyss Dark Elf unit

In a bit of a surprise announcement, Creative Assembly has now revealed that the Dark Elves will soon be getting the mighty Kharibdyss as a brand new unit. As you can probably guess from the image alone, the Kharibdyss is a poison-spewing monstrosity that deals a high amount of damage and spreads fear wherever it goes, though it pays for all of that power with a rather slow movement speed and a huge, arrow-baiting character model.

The Kharibdyss will only be available to owners of the most recent The Queen & The Crone DLC, though if you don't have it there's no need to worry as there are also some rather interesting balance changes coming in with the update. You'll find the full patch notes over at the official website, but what I feel is worth highlighting the most is the various and much-needed buffs to Bretonnia.

The Surge 2's very first gameplay footage already shows noticeable improvements over the original

The Surge 2 official artwork and logo

While The Surge launched as a bit of a buggy take on the Dark Souls gameplay formula, the developers have slowly but surely managed to improve upon it in almost every way. For example, the Walk in the Part expansion brought with it non-linear levels and much more colorful environments, while the more recent free content update added some highly enjoyable weapons and bosses to bash over the head with said weapons.

With that in mind, I am very glad to say that The Surge 2 is following in the same footsteps, as you'll see in the very first gameplay preview down below, courtesy of IGN. Have a gander, it's quite an interesting video despite The Surge 2 still being in early development:

Fallout 76 will be a multiplayer survival game where you can nuke your enemies into oblivion

Fallout 76 official artwork showing a helmet and two characters

I'm sure many of you were wondering why Fallout 4 even launched with a base-building system when it was almost completely inconsequential. Well, it would appear that was only a testing ground for what is now known as Fallout 76 - a multiplayer survival game where you can build gigantic bases and have said gigantic bases nuked straight off the face of the planet by someone you may have pissed off three hours ago!

Naturally, getting a nuke isn't as easy as popping into the local thrift store. You will first need to collect a variety of codes spread across the map, codes which will then unlock the nuke and allow you to target whichever poor sap you want. As I'm sure you've already noticed, the catch here is that you will not only need a group to accomplish this, but that you will also need to invest a significant amount of resources and time into something that might just get used against you if you fail.

After being slightly delayed due to the sheer amount of content arriving alongside it, Guild Wars 2's Living World Season 4: Episode 3 - Long Live the Lich is set to arrive next week, on June 26th. Besides having a ridiculously long title, Episode 3 will bring with it a new chapter of the ongoing "Living World" storyline, an expansive new map to explore, a new legendary item, and perhaps most importantly of all, a surprisingly adorable Roller Beetle mount to acquire and immediately paint over!

If you're wondering what exactly all of this might look like in gameplay terms, wonder no more as the developers have just posted a brief trailer. It's well worth checking out, if only for the new mount alone!

Wolfenstein Youngblood will be a co-op continuation of The New Colossus storyline

In a bit of an interesting twist, Bethesda has announced that the next Wolfenstein game will not only be co-op focused, but that it will not star B.J. as the main character! Instead, it will be his twin daughters that will have to take up the mantle of Nazi-slayers 19 years after the end of The New Colossus. We're now just one step closer to Commander Keen!

Silliness aside, if you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, allow me to share with you the recently posted teaser trailer. It's not as revealing as I or many others have hoped, but it'll at least give you a bit of an idea of what to expect from Youngblood. Have a look:

Wreckfest, previously known as the Next Car Game, has now landed on Steam

After a rather lengthy development process, the "Next Car Game" has now finally released in full as Wreckfest. As you might imagine from the name alone, Wreckfest is a demolition derby themed racing game with a focus on fairly realistic crashes, detailed damage modelling and in-depth driving mechanics.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, allow me to share with you the recently posted launch trailer. It'll give you a pretty darn good idea of what Wreckfest is all about. Have a look:
