Overwatch's third annual Archives event will be running from April 16 - May 6. It'll bring with it a brand new co-op mission by the name of Rising Storm, all of the previous Archives events and their accompanying rewards, as well as a whole bunch of new and old cosmetics to collect.

While the full list has not been released just yet, you might be interested to hear that Blizzard has now released teasers for a good chunk of the new skins. You'll find the images right below, and if you're looking for a more detailed preview, clicking on each one will also send you to an official (and unfortunately a bit low quality) video on Twitter. Here are the skins, in no particular order:

Generation Zero is a recently released FPS set in 1980's Sweden and infested with killer robots

Generation Zero killer robots roaming the forest

[Update #2]: Generation Zero studio is now working on a challenging open world action-roguelite - Ravenbound.

[Update]: Generation Zero's incoming April 2022 Base Assault update will start the big push against the robots.

Generation Zero is a recently released FPS set in 1980's Sweden where killer robots roam the land and hunt for any remaining human survivors. As you might expect from that alone, you'll spend most of your time in Generation Zero hiding from hordes of robots, collecting a variety of loot and resources in order to keep yourself going, and naturally, blasting apart one robotic menace after another.

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in gameplay terms through one of the previews down below. The video is a bit old, but I'd say it gets the point across quite nicely. Have a gander:

Path of Exile devs are now working on improving melee abilities, animations and combat in general

While Path of Exile's end-game is absolutely incredible, especially when you have a dozen spells working in unison, the very beginning leaves a lot to be desired. Unless you know which abilities to pick and which areas to avoid, you can end up spending a considerable amount of time swinging a slow and unwieldy melee weapon, which as you might imagine, isn't exactly fun for brand new players.

Thankfully, it would appear that Grinding Gear Games are now finally looking to address this issue. Much like the recent Synthesis update which rebalanced just about every single spell, the June 3.7.0 expansion will bring with it a major overhaul of melee abilities, animations, and combat in general.

Conan Unconquered's latest preview offers a deeper look at the strategy-focused gameplay

Conan Unconquered is an upcoming strategy game in the vein of They are Billions. In other words, you can expect to spend most of your time building up an impenetrable stronghold, collecting resources and fighting natural disasters, as well as fending off wave after wave of bloodthirsty barbarians that would love nothing more than to torch your entire city and dance on its ashes.

If you're wondering how all of this looks like in gameplay terms, as well as what exactly you can even do in Conan Unconquered, you'll find the answers you seek in the recently posted developer preview. Have a gander, it's quite an informative one:

Overwatch's Archives 2019 event will be coming next week alongside a new co-op mission - Storm Rising

Out of all the holidays and events in Overwatch, the annual Archives events are by far the most interesting. They bring with them a variety of co-op missions to test your skills against, a deeper dive into the history of the Overwatch organization itself, and naturally, a whole bunch of themed skins to mess around with. The upcoming Overwatch: Storm Rising event will be no different.

It'll offer you a chance to play through all of the previous Archives missions, as well as explore a brand new mission where Tracer, Genji, Winston and Mercy will be hunting down Maximillien, a Talon Omnic, through the streets of Havana. The details are currently few and far between, but given the previous two Archives events, the new co-op mission should be a good bit of fun!

Outward Review - An exploration-focused RPG in the vein of Gothic or Risen

Outward official artwork showing the logo

Outward is an exploration-focused RPG that doesn't treat your character like they're anyone truly special. Instead, it just shows you the door to a wide-open world, gives you a pat on the back as you leave in search of treasure, and then laughs while you get devoured by a pack of hyenas. A ruthless experience to be sure, and one that many will not be able to stomach, but it's certainly a captivating one once you realize that all of the tools needed to survive are right there - you just need to figure out how to make the best use of them.

So if you're curious about what exactly Outward has to offer, as well as how it compares to the rest of the RPG genre, allow me to share my thoughts after a rather lengthy and eventful playthrough.

The PC version of Monster Hunter: World has now added a free High Resolution Texture Pack

While Monster Hunter: World is one of my favorite games released in the past few years, it is not without some major flaws, as I outlined in my original review. For me, the biggest problem lies with the visual quality, because despite Monster Hunter: World's lovely art direction, it's hard to ignore the fact that some of the environment and armor textures look distractingly blurry. This goes doubly so for the Rotten Vale zone where the blurriness can become so overwhelming that the entire landscape starts looking like a watercolor painting.

With that in mind, I am delighted to announce that Capcom has now released a free High Resolution Texture Pack! As you'll see in the comparison image below, the improvements in texture quality are simply incredible, especially for some of the more detailed armor sets. Have a gander:
