Overwatch's third annual Archives event has now finally arrived, bringing with it a brand new co-op mission that will have you run across across the streets of Havana during a hurricane. The Rising Storm event has also added a variety of new cosmetics to collect, two fancy new cinematics, as well as two of the previous Archives co-op modes to explore.

You can find out a bit more about the Rising Storm event over at the official website, but for now allow me to share with you the recently posted teaser trailer. Have a gander, it's a pretty fun one:

Personally, I am of two minds about this year's Archives event. On one hand I absolutely love the new cinematics and the work Blizzard put into the Havana map, but on the other hand the gameplay itself is basically copy-pasted from last year's event. Overwatch already suffers from each event feeling basically the same, be it the Summer Games or Winter Wonderland, so it's a real shame to see the only unique event this year be a simply retread. Not a bad retread by any stretch, mind you, though I can't help but lament over what could've been.

On the positive side, the hero buffs that came with the Storm Rising update are actually pretty solid. You can find the full list on the official patch notes, but long story short, Junkrat's grenades are now faster but bounce less, while Reaper finally got his much-needed Shadow Step buffs. Best of all, Reaper can now Shadow Step while falling, which combined with the new invincibility frames means you will actually be able to use the ability offensively without getting headshot the moment you press the button!

How exactly all of this will affect Junkrat and Reaper's representation in competitive play, only time will tell, but it's certainly a step in the right direction when it comes to the overall balance. I can only hope future patches will continue along this route as well!
