Respawn has announced their plans for the future of Apex Legends and the Titanfall series

While Apex Legends is still an enjoyable game, the pace and quality of its updates has not exactly been ideal. For example, after a fairly lengthy delay the newest patch has brought with it a lovely 10% damage reduction passive for Gibraltar and Caustic... as well as a bug that sometimes renders that passive completely useless and makes it so the 10% damage is taken directly from the character's health, completely bypassing any shields.

In order to address these sort of bugs, as well as announce their plans for the future, Respawn has now released a rather lengthy update on Reddit. Respawn unfortunately doesn't go into too many details here as a lot of the stuff is still under heavy development, but long story short, you can expect to see a bunch of bug fixes throughout Season 1, while Season 2 will bring with it a more significant content update.

Left 4 Dead inspired co-op shooter World War Z has recently arrived for PC and consoles

[Update #2]: World War Z is adding Horde Mode XL with an utterly absurd number of zombies to fight.

[Update]: World War Z is getting an expansion with new levels, characters, and even bigger zombie hordes.

Despite Left 4 Dead 2 managing to stay highly popular years and years after its original release date, there are very few games that have tried to replicate its style. With that in mind, you can imagine my surprise when I realized that World War Z, a rather late movie tie-in game, managed to not only recreate the Left 4 Dead formula, but do it quite competently as well!

Much like its inspiration, World War Z is a co-op shooter that will pit you and three other players against hordes and hordes of zombies as you attempt to escape whatever precarious situation you find yourself in. Some of the zombies are just ordinary fodder, mostly there to be mowed down in the hundreds, while others have special abilities that you will need to deal with as a team in order to avoid a brutal demise. A simple enough concept, but also one that has already been proven to work.

While the Resident Evil 2 remake is not exactly a faithful recreation of the original horror classic, it is without a doubt a Resident Evil game, and a pretty darn good one at that! With no hand-holding and a surprisingly balanced difficulty, the Resident Evil 2 remake manages to stay tense and interesting from the very beginning to the very end, even through multiple playthroughs!

So if you're wondering what exactly all of this looks like in gameplay terms, as well as what sort of atmosphere Resident Evil 2 cloaks itself with, allow me to share with you a spoiler-free gameplay preview showcasing the first 20 minutes of Leon's campaign. Have a gander:

Apex Legends update has now finally buffed the 'Thicc Bois' and various sniper weapons

Apex Legends official artwork showing Gibraltar

In games like Overwatch the bigger characters have a proportionally larger health pool, as well as numerous defensive abilities to ensure they don't get absolutely annihilated the moment they step out of cover. When it comes to the bigger characters in Apex Legends, this is not the case. For example, Gibraltar might have a small shield to protect himself, but given that he has the same health as Wraith yet is over twice as wide, he is always going to be at a significant disadvantage in firefights.

While there is still work that needs to be done in order to ensure the Legends are balanced, I am very glad to say that the recent Apex Legends update has finally buffed the 'Thicc Bois' by beefing up their abilities, as well as giving them a 10% damage reduction passive. I doubt this will be enough to make Gibraltar and Caustic as powerful as the always-amazing Wraith, Lifeline or Pathfinder, but it's certainly a step in the right direction and one that I am more than pleased to see.

As you're most likely aware, the Norte-Dame cathedral recently had a catastrophic fire that caused significant damage to a building that was already in need of renovation. In order to ensure the Norte-Dame returns to its former glory and opens its doors as quickly as possible, numerous companies and individuals have started pouring considerable amounts of money into a restoration fund, including Ubisoft themselves.

"As the smoke clears on the events that unfolded on Monday at the Notre-Dame de Paris, we stand in solidarité with our fellow Parisians and everyone around the world moved by the devastation the fire caused," reads the official announcement. "In light of Monday's events, we will be donating €500,000 to help with the restoration and reconstruction of the Cathedral. We encourage all of you who are interested to donate as well."

If you've finished Darksiders 3 but you're still itching for more, you might want to check out the latest update. Besides some balance changes and bug fixes, the update has added the much-requested new game plus mode called Armageddon.

As you would expect, the Armageddon mode will only become available once you complete Darksiders 3, and will offer you a much greater challenge with each subsequent playthrough. While you will get to retain your previous items, the Armageddon mode will bring with it tougher enemies, new upgrades to collect, a variety of new encounters to tackle, as well as a brand new enemy. What exactly these encounters might look like, the developers didn't specify, but anything that helps keep the new game plus experience fresh and interesting is certainly a welcome addition!
