Total War: Warhammer 2 devs have finally detailed the upcoming and massive Beastmen rework

[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 2's final and ridiculously huge The Hammers & Herdstones update has now landed, and it's quite an impressive one!

[Update]: Creative Assembly has now also revealed the surprisingly chunky Dwarf rework!

Out of all the factions in the current version of Total War: Warhammer 2, the Beastmen are by far the most miserable to play. Even if you can overcome the fact that literally everyone hates you and build up a solid army, actually wiping out your enemies is still a rather nightmarish process. Since the AI loves nothing more than to resettle all of the ruins you leave in your wake, pretty much every single Beastmen campaign eventually turns into a Warhammer themed whack-a-mole where the only prize is your inevitable loss of sanity.

Thankfully, all of this nonsense will soon be coming to an end. Once The Silence & The Fury DLC arrives this July 14th we'll not only get a whole bunch of new Beastmen monsters to play around with, but also the long-awaited rework that will land as a part of the accompanying free update!

RimWorld will soon be getting the massive free Update 1.3 and Ideology expansion

[Update]: The Ideology expansion and its accompanying free Update 1.3 have now arrived alongside a pretty positive reception.

It may have taken well over a year since RimWorld's Update 1.2 and Royalty expansion, but I'm happy to say a brand new batch of content is nearly ready to be unleashed! Much like before the upcoming patch will be separated into two parts: the free Update 1.3 and the paid Ideology expansion.

Despite being free, Update 1.3 will be a rather chunky one. Expect to see a new AI system to make base raids a more dangerous affair, a pens-and-fences system for animals, a reworked faction goodwill system, combat formations, improved mod support, better visual indicators for things like wounds and body modifications, new beards, a whole bunch of quality of life tweaks, and the list goes on for a while.

Doom Eternal is shifting development from the PvP Invasion mode to the single-player Horde mode

[Update]: Doom Eternal's Update 6.66 has added Horde Mode, new Master levels and Battlemode 2.0.

In a bit of a departure from the usual FPS game modes, Doom Eternal wanted to add the Invasion Mode as a post-launch update. This Dark Souls inspired mode would have you invade a random player's campaign and possess a powered-up version of one the demons, after which the two of you would have a brief but highly explosive duel, with the victor getting some nifty prizes out of the whole ordeal.

However, as with many other things, the pandemic has thrown a wrench into those plans. This, combined with the community's interest in the Invasion Mode waning with time, has convinced id Software to stop working on it and instead focus on a totally new single-player horde mode.

Mortal Kombat 11 has had a pretty good run since it released back in 2019, but sadly all good things must come to an end. In an extremely brief update NetherRealm Studios have now announced that they're officially done with development on Mortal Kombat 11.

"NetherRealm is now focusing on its next project and after more than two years of supporting Mortal Kombat 11, DLC for the game, including characters, has come to an end," reads the entirety of the announcement.

[Update]: Monster Hunter Stories 2 has now arrived, and so far it's getting a pretty positive reception!

If you're in the mood for a little bit of a different Monster Hunter experience, you might want to check out the upcoming RPG spin-off Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. Instead of hunting down powerful monsters in order to chop them into pieces and use those pieces to make increasingly more absurd weaponry, Monster Hunter Stories 2 will have you take the more friendly approach of raising monsters, teaming up with them in battle, and eventually even riding them around as you explore the world.

You can get a bit of an idea of how all of this will look like in action, as well as what sort of style Monster Hunter Stories 2 is going for, through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:

MTG Arena's Mirror Mirror event has brought back rebalanced versions of the strongest banned cards

[Update]: The Adventures in the Forgotten Realms expansion has now arrived with 261 cards in tow!

Over the past few years MTG Arena has seen numerous bans in both the Standard and Historic formats. While some of these cards like Cauldron Familiar were situationally powerful and only really banned because of how overrepresented they were, there were also cards like Omnath, Locus of Creation or Oko, Thief of Crowns that were so ridiculously strong that they immediately warped the game around them.

The latter category is the one we'll be talking about today as MTG Arena has just brought in the Mirror Mirror event! To put it simply, from today until July 6th you'll be able to create any Historic deck regardless of your collection and mess around with rebalanced versions of twelve of the most powerful banned cards in MTG Arena!

[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 2's final and ridiculously huge The Hammers & Herdstones update has now landed, and it's quite an impressive one!

[Update]: Creative Assembly has finally detailed the massive Beastmen rework!

After being fairly silent over the past month or so, Creative Assembly has now gone into overdrive with the new announcements. Just yesterday they have revealed the full scope of The Silence & The Fury DLC including all four of the fan-favorite giant monsters (Ghorgon, Jabbersylthe, Coatl and Troglodon), and now they have announced that the accompanying free update will be just as impressive!

Besides all of the faction updates, the July 14 free update will bring with it the Great Brey Shaman as a generic lord for the Beastmen, as well as the highly temperamental Thorek Ironbrow as a brand new Legendary Lord for the Dwarfs. Perhaps most excitingly of all, Creative Assembly is also adding Ogre mercenaries with five unit variants!
