In celebration of France's Bastille Day, as well as to honor the late comic book artist and developer Benoît Sokal, GOG is currently giving away two of his classic point & click adventure games - Syberia 1 and 2. Simply head on over to GOG, add the two games to your account, and you'll be good to go after a short download.
The one catch, as always, is that the giveaway is time limited. As such, you'll need to add the two games to your account before 1pm UTC on July 17, after which you'll be able to play them whenever you want.

[Update #2]: My review for Darktide is now live and, long story short, it's as rough and fascinating as the world it takes place in!
[Update]: Darktide has revealed the fourth and final Psyker class in a brand new trailer.
The pandemic has caused an unprecedented amount of delays over the past year, and sadly today we have a brand new one to add to the pile. This time around it's the co-op focused Warhammer 40,000: Darktide that is getting its release date pushed back. So instead of launching in 2021 as previously expected, Darktide will be arriving onto PC and Xbox in early 2022.
"We have a responsibility to deliver the best game we possibly can, and frankly we need more time to accomplish this goal," reads the brief update. "It's no secret that building a game during a pandemic is a challenge and we are not immune to this."
NieR: Automata devs have detailed the upcoming and much-needed Steam patch

[Update]: The update has now arrived, and I'm happy to say it has brought with it one additional surprise - the removal of the often-controversial Denuvo DRM!
Ever since Nier: Automata landed onto Steam it was plagued with a whole assortment of technical problems. Unfortunately, neither Square Enix nor PlatinumGames did much of anything to fix these issues over the years, and so players were forced to rely on third-party mods in order to achieve basic functionality like making the game run at the resolution it was set to.
Thankfully, all of this nonsense will be changing for the better in the near future. As a part of the upcoming July 15 update, NieR: Automata will be fixing many of its long-standing technical issues and finally making the Steam version as solid as the more recent Xbox Game Pass one.

[Update]: Creative Assembly has now corrected the recent bugs and made cavalry charges a lot more effective across the board.
After a myriad of awesome updates and a whole boatload of new content, Total War: Warhammer 2 has now reached the end of its journey. Don't be too sad, however, as Creative Assembly has decided to send it off with one of the biggest and most ambitious updates the game has ever seen!
On the paid side of things we have the new The Silence & The Fury DLC which brings with it Taurox and Oxyotl as new Legendary Lords for the Beastmen and Lizardmen respectively, a whole bunch of massive new units to fill out both rosters, and perhaps most importantly of all, unique campaign mechanics for both factions to really help spice things up. Here's a little sneak peek at what all of this looks like in action:
MTG Arena is temporarily banning The Book of Exalted Deeds in the Standard 2022 mode

[Update #2]: MTG Arena has banned Tibalt's Trickery and Memory Lapse from the Historic format.
[Update]: MTG Arena is soon adding a bunch of Modern Horizons 1 and 2 cards, alongside 31 brand new ones.
Once the next set arrives in September, four of the currently oldest Standard sets will rotate out of the format. Given that these four sets (Throne of Eldraine, Theros Beyond Death, Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths and Core Set 2021) represent some of the strongest cards currently available in Standard, the upcoming rotation is promising to seriously shake up the metagame.
So in order to give players a chance to prepare for this, MTG Arena has recently introduced a brand new Standard 2022 game mode. However, while it's certainly a lot of fun to play with previously mediocre cards, the format has brought with it one major problem - The Book of Exalted Deeds combo.

[Update]: Apex Legends' Season 10 is launching on August 3 alongside a new Legend, weapon and map rework.
The Genesis event has only just finished, and already Apex Legends has brought in a fancy new replacement. The freshly launched Thrillseekers event brings with it a variety of new cosmetics to collect, both paid and free, as well as a rather hot new Arena map to shake things up.
Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. It'll give you a pretty good idea of what the new Overflow map looks like, as well as what sort of theme they're going for with this batch of cosmetics. Have a gander:
Voidspeed Outlaw is an F-Zero inspired retro-futuristic racing game

While it once commanded a great deal of respect, the F-Zero series has sadly completely disappeared over the course of the past twenty years. While that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon, I am pleased to say that an indie studio is currently working on a spiritual successor - Voidspeed Outlaw.
As you might expect given its inspiration, Voidspeed Outlaw is a retro-futuristic racing game that will have you zoom across a whole bunch of tracks set all throughout the Solar System. Along the way you'll be able to upgrade and customize your speeder, switch between a variety of different models, as well as mess around with several game modes.
