Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of the Beastmen from their new rework

[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 2's final and ridiculously huge The Hammers & Herdstones update has now landed, and it's quite an impressive one!

[Update]: Creative Assembly has now also revealed the surprisingly chunky Dwarf rework!

Out of all the factions in the current version of Total War: Warhammer 2, the Beastmen are by far the most miserable to play. Even if you can overcome the fact that literally everyone hates you and build up a solid army, actually wiping out your enemies is still a rather nightmarish process. Since the AI loves nothing more than to resettle all of the ruins you leave in your wake, pretty much every single Beastmen campaign eventually turns into a Warhammer themed whack-a-mole where the only prize is your inevitable loss of sanity.

Thankfully, all of this nonsense will soon be coming to an end. Once The Silence & The Fury DLC arrives this July 14th we'll not only get a whole bunch of new Beastmen monsters to play around with, but also the long-awaited rework that will land as a part of the accompanying free update!

As for what exactly this rework will entail, and how significantly it'll change the Beastmen campaign, that you can find out through the recently posted developer video. Have a look - it's quite an informative one:

I'll reserve my judgment for when I actually get to try the new and improved Beastmen myself, but so far I have to say I'm quite optimistic about the whole update. Beastmen should be a highly aggressive race that goes from one fight to another in a desperate bid to please the Chaos Gods, and from what I can tell the update is focusing on exactly that. So even if the balance ends up being a bit wacky for the first few weeks, I can't help but feel that this new version will be significantly more fun than the previous one!

Whatever the case may be, I'll make sure to let you know once the next big preview goes out. Until then, you can read a little bit more about The Silence & The Fury over at Steam.
