The latest in the America’s Army series of games is soon shutting down its doors

America’s Army: Proving Grounds artwork with the logo

The original America's Army released all the way back in 2002 as a recruitment tool for, unsurprisingly, the U.S. Army. What did come as quite a surprise is that the game itself was actually really good, so much so that even I ended up taking a break from my then-beloved Team Fortress 2 in order to focus on it for a few months!

After the success of the original, the developers then continued to expand the series with new spin-offs and sequels, the last of which launched in 2015. A fifth mainline game was also supposedly in development, but judging by the recent announcement it looks like the future of that one might not be so bright.

Charming and challenging skateboarding-platformer OlliOlli World has now been unleashed

OlliOlli World, much like the rest of the series, is a challenging skateboarding platformer that will have you grind across, fly over and slam directly into all sorts of colorful locations. Where OlliOlli World differs greatly from its predecessors, however, is in the visuals and the atmosphere!

The world of Radlandia is an incredibly vibrant and bizarre place filled with banana-men, oversized frog-monsters, sentient piles of trash, and even walking trees that happen to have a penchant for skateboarding. Since words alone can't really do OlliOlli World's setting justice, allow me to share with you one of the gameplay overview trailers. Have a peek:

[Update #2]: Shadow Warrior 3 has now arrived for PC and consoles with a short but explosive campaign.

[Update]: Shadow Warrior 3's pre-launch preview shows off wacky enemies, bad jokes and loads of colorful explosions!

Shadow Warrior 3 was originally supposed to launch in late 2021, but much like a good chunk of games that had similar plans, it ended up being delayed back in October due to the pandemic messing everything up. Quite a bit of time has gone by since then, but I'm happy to say we won't have to wait much longer as Shadow Warrior 3 has now been pinned for a March 1, 2022 release date!

As for what exactly you can expect to see in terms of gameplay once Shadow Warrior 3 finally arrives, that you can find out through one of the lengthier previews down below. It's a little bit outdated at this point, but it should still give you an excellent idea of just what Shadow Warrior 3 is trying to accomplish. Have a look:

[Update #2]: Apex Legends' Season 13 is adding Bangalore's brother and sprucing up the Storm Point map.

After a whole bunch of teasers and previews, Apex Legends' Season 12 update "Defiance" has now finally arrived. Season 12 brings with it Mad Maggie as an aggressive new Legend to toy around with, a slight rework of the Olympus map, a highly engaging limited-time game mode by the name of Control, as well as a bunch of new cosmetics to collect.

What all of this looks like in actual gameplay, however, that you can find out through two of the recent trailers. The first one is all about Mad Maggie herself, while the second is the always-handy season overview. Have a gander:

Mars Tactics is an upcoming turn-based tactics game inspired by the original XCOM

Mars Tactics screenshot of XCOM inspired gameplay

While it might not have you fight against an alien invasion, the upcoming Mars Tactics is a turn-based strategy with quite a few similarities to the original XCOM. In other words, you'll have a vast array of tactical options and weapons to utilize during combat, the ability to fire anywhere and even destroy terrain in order to get an edge over your opponents, while your scores of rookies will develop their own personalities and traits depending on what they've gone through.

Much like the original XCOM, you also won't be able to use your all-star squad for each mission as there will be problems popping up all across Mars. As such, you'll need to use a variety of unique characters, many of which might not be the cream of the crop, as well as potentially mismatched equipment in order to survive the onslaught.

[Update #2]: Dying Light 2's very first story-focused DLC Bloody Ties will be launching on November 10th, 2022.

[Update]: My review for Dying Light 2 is now up, and I'm happy to say that it's a somewhat misguided yet still highly entertaining bandit-kicking simulator!

Dying Light 2 has just recently landed onto PC, and while the gameplay itself is solid there are unfortunately some technical issues that still need to be sorted out. Thankfully, we won't have to wait all that long for the all-important fixes to arrive as the Dying Light 2 team has just announced which ones are coming soon and which ones are currently in the works!

As such, one the next update arrives you can expect to see fixes to various game-crashing bugs, as well as the end of never-ending black screens. The update will also bring with it DLSS improvements, the ability to consistently sell valuables to vendors, and a fix for the bug that caused dead bodies to replicate while playing in co-op.
