[Update #2]: Dying Light 2's very first story-focused DLC Bloody Ties will be launching on November 10th, 2022.
[Update]: My review for Dying Light 2 is now up, and I'm happy to say that it's a somewhat misguided yet still highly entertaining bandit-kicking simulator!
It took many years, and just as many delays, but Dying Light 2 has now finally made its way to both PC and consoles. It brings with it a massive open-world to parkour in, hordes upon hordes of zombies to accidentally fall directly on top of, an assortment of factions to befriend or antagonize, as well as support for four-player co-op to really spice things up.
If you're curious what some of this looks like in actual gameplay, as well as what the story is even about, allow me to share with you one of the recent trailers. Have a gander:

In an incredibly brief announcement over at Twitter, Rockstar Games have just revealed that they have begun work on the next big entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. The actual details are currently few and far between, so whether this will be GTA VI or some kind of spin-off game, nobody outside of Rockstar really knows.
"With every new project, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we've previously delivered," reads the update. "We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details. On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you!"
Souls-like action-rpg Achilles: Legends Untold has now launched into Open Beta

[Update]: Achilles: Legends Untold has now arrived, and while it does show promise it's still a bit rough around the edges.
In a bit of an usual combination of genres, the upcoming Achilles: Legends Untold is a Diablo-inspired action-RPG with healthy smattering of Souls-like mechanics. In other words, you'll not only need to slice and dice through large groups of enemies, but also take great care of your positioning and timing as they'll often be the only things keeping you from becoming a colorful stain on the floor.
Since the combat system is the very core of Achilles, and also something that happens to be tricky to describe through words alone, allow me to stop yammering and instead share with you the original reveal trailer. It should clue you in quite quickly on just what Achilles: Legends Untold is trying to do. Have a peek:

[Update #2]: Dota 2's Update 7.31b has now landed with fixes for some of the newfound balance problems.
[Update]: Dota 2's Update 7.31 has added the Primal Beast hero, reworked Techies and rebalanced all jungle creeps.
When it comes to announcing big updates, especially highly anticipated ones, most studios would take the approach that ensures as many people as possible see the planned release date. Valve, however, has a... different way of doing things.
So in a brief announcement tucked away at the bottom of a blog post about a random sale on treasure chests, Valve has just revealed that Dota 2's long-awaited Patch 7.31 will be launching on February 23, 2022! And no, I'm not actually joking. That is official!

After finally finishing up all of the extra content planned for Shovel Knight, the Yacht Club Games team has now set their sights on their next big action-adventure - Mina the Hollower. According to the already-funded Kickstarter, Mina the Hollower will be an 8-bit trip down memory lane inspired by classics like Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and apparently even Bloodborne!
What all of this might look like in actual gameplay, that you can find out through the freshly posted announcement trailer. Have a gander, it's just as charming as Shovel Knight:
Project Haven is an upcoming turn-based tactics game inspired by Jagged Alliance
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Much like Jagged Alliance from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, the upcoming Project Haven is a turn-based tactics game where you control a squad of highly customizable mercs sent on a variety of nearly suicidal missions. In order to succeed you'll need to utilize an assortment of different tools and weapons, carefully plan your approach, and then solve each problem with a combination of stealth, strategy and vast quantities of explosives.
Where Project Haven differs greatly from Jagged Alliance is in the aiming. All of it is done from a 3rd person view, giving you the option to aim exactly where you want to. Headshots grant bonus damage, shots to an enemy's weapon can potentially disarm them or at least mess up their aim, while hits to the legs will obviously slow them down. You'll still have to rely on good ol' fashioned percentages in order to actually score a hit, but being able to personally choose what you're shooting at is certainly a nifty idea.
