Mars Tactics is an upcoming turn-based tactics game inspired by the original XCOM

While it might not have you fight against an alien invasion, the upcoming Mars Tactics is a turn-based strategy with quite a few similarities to the original XCOM. In other words, you'll have a vast array of tactical options and weapons to utilize during combat, the ability to fire anywhere and even destroy terrain in order to get an edge over your opponents, while your scores of rookies will develop their own personalities and traits depending on what they've gone through.

Much like the original XCOM, you also won't be able to use your all-star squad for each mission as there will be problems popping up all across Mars. As such, you'll need to use a variety of unique characters, many of which might not be the cream of the crop, as well as potentially mismatched equipment in order to survive the onslaught.

[Update #2]: Dying Light 2's very first story-focused DLC Bloody Ties will be launching on November 10th, 2022.

[Update]: My review for Dying Light 2 is now up, and I'm happy to say that it's a somewhat misguided yet still highly entertaining bandit-kicking simulator!

Dying Light 2 has just recently landed onto PC, and while the gameplay itself is solid there are unfortunately some technical issues that still need to be sorted out. Thankfully, we won't have to wait all that long for the all-important fixes to arrive as the Dying Light 2 team has just announced which ones are coming soon and which ones are currently in the works!

As such, one the next update arrives you can expect to see fixes to various game-crashing bugs, as well as the end of never-ending black screens. The update will also bring with it DLSS improvements, the ability to consistently sell valuables to vendors, and a fix for the bug that caused dead bodies to replicate while playing in co-op.

As the name might suggest, all of the profits from the purchase of the F*CK CANCER will be donated to Cancerfonden, a Swedish non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating cancer.

Sifu is an upcoming martial arts action-roguelike from the team behind Absolver

Sifu official artwork showing the character and logo

[Update]: Sifu has now arrived, and as expected, it's quite a challenging experience!

Inspired by Kung Fu movies of old, Sifu is an upcoming martial arts action-roguelike about revenge, perseverance, and naturally, beating up scores upon scores of nameless henchmen. Much like Sloclap's previous game Absolver, Sifu offers you a massive array of moves and combos to experiment with, along with the ability to counteract everything your opponents throw at you... provided you're skilled enough to actually pull it off.

Failure is not the end, however, as even death itself is only a mere inconvenience to Sifu. Should you fall in battle you will rise again, older and more haggard than before, but more than capable to bring righteous vengeance to those that felled you. This obviously can't go on forever, so while you do get plenty of chances, you'll still need to do your best to stay alive and young in order to clean out all of the big bad bosses.

Path of Exile's newest Siege of the Atlas expansion has reworked the endgame yet again

Path of Exile Siege of the Atlas expansion artwork for one of the bosses

[Update #2]: Path of Exile's Update 3.20 is making rare monsters more rewarding, easier to understand and less hectic to fight.

[Update]: Path of Exile's August 2022 update "Lake of Kalandra" will allow you to create and explore your own dungeons.

If you're looking for an excuse to dive back into Path of Exile, the freshly released Siege of the Atlas expansion is a pretty good one. It has not only brought with it new endgame bosses and an assortment of fancy items to collect, but also a gigantic Atlas-wide Passive Tree with over 600 skills, a brand new Challenge League to explore, as well as a reworked Atlas mapping system.

Basically, under the new system there are no more regions in the Atlas, which means that your specialization now affects every map you run. Similarly, instead of having to collect a bunch of Watchstones to upgrade your maps, you now only need to get four Voidstones to raise the tier of all maps on your Atlas. So while it's still quite an ordeal, things should at least be a lot easier to understand from now on.

Total War: Warhammer 3 devs have detailed many of the upcoming changes to Corruption

[Update #2]: Creative Assembly has now detailed their plans for the upcoming improvements and bug fixes.

[Update]: Total War: Warhammer 3 has now finally arrived, though not without some technical trouble.

Even though it was present since the very early days of Total War: Warhammer, corruption has never been all that interesting. As a player you could easily avoid its negative effects by simply doing what comes naturally - attacking enemy factions bordering your territory. It was even less relevant for the AI as their public order bonuses vastly outscaled any negatives from corruption, making the whole system just kind of pointless on both ends.

As such, I'm very happy to say that Total War: Warhammer 3 will be bringing with it some significant changes, including massively increased positive and negative effects! Here's a brief rundown of what you can expect:
