[Update]: A brand new Worms game has now been announced - Worms 2020.
Team17 has created a plethora of Worms games over the years, but none of them have ever come even close to sparking the same level of excitement within me as the old school classic - Worms: Armageddon. There is just something timeless about a "simple" 2D game where hordes of suicidal worms throw everything and anything at each other, often with completely ridiculous and unintended results.
If you share a similar sort of viewpoint you'll be glad to hear that Worms W.M.D, in many ways a new and improved version of Worms: Armageddon, has been released for the PC and consoles and mere few hours ago. Here's the completely cheesy launch trailer to clue you in on what exactly Worms W.M.D is all about:

Elite: Dangerous is a bit of a polarizing game. It contains a truly wast and immersive universe to explore, and more importantly, some great gameplay mechanics to make all of that space-trucking a rather enjoyable experience... so what exactly is the issue here? Well, Elite: Dangerous suffers from a severe lack of content, and even after playing for a short while you are most likely going to start realizing how shallow the universe really is and how much grinding is required before you get anywhere.
Thankfully, the developers do seem to be aware of all these complaints as they have announced a whole bunch of new features and quality of life changes during this year's Gamescom. If you're interested in an obscenely detailed look into all of them, you'll find a playlist of developer videos right below. On the other hand, if you're without an hour to spare I'll also include a brief summary:

With Hearthstone currently sitting comfortably as the most played digital card game it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that there are numerous contenders for the throne out there. More importantly, all of them are quite eager to nab even a fraction of Hearthstone's playerbase by offering something new and different.
It is exactly that last part that Faeria focuses on as it isn't simply a card game, but rather a strange mixture between a classic collectible card game and a strategy orientated board game. Since explaining this whole concept is fairly hard in words alone, here's the relatively recent Early Access trailer to hopefully give you a good idea of what Faeria is all about:

If watching the relatively recent Bastion animated short got you interested in the Crusaders and Reinhardt's history in general, you'll be glad to hear that Eichenwalde, Overwatch's first post-launch map, is now available on the PTR (Public Test Realm).
Much like King's Row and Numbani, Eichenwalde is a hybrid map that features elements from both payload and assault maps, all wrapped up in some of the loveliest scenery Overwatch has seen to date. If you don't believe me, here's the trailer that showcases the various locations on the map, and more importantly, one of the amazing new skins for Reinhardt:

Warlords of Draenor is by far the worst expansion World of Warcraft has ever received, and its not because of the quality of its content, but rather the complete lack of thereof. With the upcoming Legion expansion now right around the corner, Blizzard has decided to prove that they have learned their lesson by announcing a major post launch patch - Return to Kharazan.
Unlike its previous raid incarnation, however, the patch 7.1 Kharazan will be a large five-man dungeon with nine bosses to contend with. Which bosses will be new and which ones will be making a return, I'm afraid I currently don't know, but if the recent trailer is any judge good ol' Moroes will be there to clean up all of the bloodstains. During a recent Gamescom presentation Square Enix and PlatinumGames brought out a rather surprising announcement - the previously PS4 exclusive NeiR: Automata will be making its way to Steam and PC as well!
If you have no idea what NieR: Automata is all about and why this such an exciting piece of news, here's the relatively recent E3 gameplay video showcasing one of the boss fights and some truly amazing music:

I am starting to believe that Paradox is now under control of an evil AI as they have recently started introducing a whole bunch of creative ways to absolutely demolish all you have taken hours upon hours to build. It all started with Crusader Kings 2 and its DLC that brings forth the black plague, but apparently that was just not deadly enough as Paradox has just announced a brand new DLC for Cities: Skylines that features a meteor barreling towards the city.
The aptly named Natural Disasters DLC brings with it a whole bunch of new catastrophes to play around with, along with an early warning system and emergency countermeasures for those that might not wish to have all of their work erased. More importantly, however, Chirper gets a whole slew of new hats! Here's the short teaser video:

When it comes to creating amazing cinematics there are very few studios that can compete with Blizzard as they have been churning out some of the best moments in gaming for nearly two decades now.
With that in mind, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that their latest "The Last Bastion" animated short is simply outstanding as well. There is not even a single word spoken throughout its 7 minute run time, yet it manages to tell a compelling story about a character everyone loves to hate. Have a look, its well worth the time:

With Gamescom currently in full swing and Battlefield 1 gameplay being posted all over the Internet, EA has finally decided to reveal their plans for the open beta. According to the recent press release the open beta will begin on August 31st, which should give everyone plenty of time to test out Battlefield 1 before it finally releases on October 21st.
As an added bonus, players who sign up as a Battlefield Insider, a roundabout way of saying "sign up for the newsletter", will be eligible to receive early access to the Open Beta. This promotion will only last until August 21st, so if you wish to play Battlefield 1 as soon as possible, make sure to actually submit your email before the gates close down.

Those among you that are currently dabbling in The Elder Scrolls Online will be glad to hear that Update 11 has recently been unleashed upon the live servers. The update has brought with it numerous qualify of life fixes, balance changes, general adjustments, and naturally, a whole slew of cosmetic items because as everyone knows, the one with the shiniest armor is definitely the best player. You can read the full patch notes by heading over here.
While Update 11 is completely free for both PC and consoles players, the Shadow of the Hist DLC pack that features two new dungeons and a bunch of cosmetic items is unfortunately not, unless you are currently subscribed to ESO. If you are, or if you're just interested in what what sort of trouble you can get up to, here's the recently posted sneak peek:
