Team Sonic Racing official artwork and logo

After already creating one of the best kart games out there in the form of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Sumo Digital has now returned to the genre with Team Sonic Racing. While it features many of the same mechanics and the same sort focus on polish as its predecessor, Team Sonic Racing unfortunately doesn't feature any transformable vehicles or third-party characters.

If you don't mind that little detail and you're wondering just what Team Sonic Racing has to offer, allow me to share with you one of the recent trailers. Have a look:

While Team Sonic Racing is most definitely not a bad game, it is not exactly an exciting one either. It just feels like a noticeable step back from Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, both in terms of unique mechanics and the roster of characters/maps. There is still a chance some of the future updates and DLCs will add some much-needed spice to it, but as of right now Team Sonic Racing is merely another in a long line of perfectly playable and fairly generic kart games.

But don't just take my word for it. You can learn a little bit more about Team Sonic Racing, as well as see what the community has to say about it, over at Steam.
