If you're a fan of mini-games and hunting down a whole bunch of cosmetic items, you might want to check out Guild Wars 2's newly added Dragon Bash Festival as it's full of exactly that. You can fight against other players in the arena using special abilities, smash a whole bunch of dragon pinatas in a brand new adventure, race against your fellow players as a Moa bird, and naturally, stuff your face with so much virtual candy that your character can barely even move!
You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in-game through the recently posted teaser trailer. Have a peek, and make sure to turn on the sound as there is a rather cheerful song playing throughout it:

[Update #3]: Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic expansion has now arrived for PC players. The console versions are still under development, though no release date has been announced just yet.
[Update #2]: Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic expansion is already playable for those that have pre-ordered!
[Update]: Fatshark has now released a lengthy developer update detailing their plans for the Winds of Magic expansion, as well as the future of Vermintide 2.
Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic expansion will be coming this August, bringing with it the savage Beastmen as a brand new faction. There will also be new weapons to experiment with, a higher level cap and all-new loot, as well as the titular Winds of Magic mode that will have you face off against ever-increasing challenges.
While not a part of the expansion itself, Winds of Magic will also bring with it a rather significant combat overhaul and hero rebalance. Dodging will be getting weaker, pushing enemies will be more effective with shields and heavy weapons, while almost every single hero talent is getting reworked in order to give players some actual choices.

[Update]: WoW's Update 8.2.5 has now brought with it the epic conclusion to the War Campaign.
After spending a considerable amount of time on the test servers, World of Warcraft's long-awaited Patch 8.2 has now finally arrived. It brings with it a brand new storyline focused around stopping Queen Azshara, a somewhat reworked Heart of Azeroth system, as well as two hefty new zones to explore: Nazjatar and Mechagon.
There's also a whole bunch of balance changes and quality of life fixes, new profession items to toy around with, the last step towards flying in the new zones, as well as a whole bunch of new mounts and pets to collect. Speaking of cosmetics, it's also important to mention that the Tauren and Gnomes have now received their very own Heritage Armor!

[Update]: Apex Legends' Season 2 update has now arrived, and so far it's pretty good!
As you're most likely well aware, trying to reach level 110 in Apex Legends' very first Battle Pass has not exactly been an easy task. Each level took well over an hour of gameplay, and with only two bonus experience events throughout the entire season, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the vast majority of Battle Pass owners ended up finishing the season without the fancy Havoc skin.
Thankfully, history will not be repeating itself with Season 2 as Respawn has now detailed a variety of Daily and Weekly Challenges that will greatly speed up your progress. Best of all, there will be a large variety of challenges present from launch, so the entire server won't all be doing the same thing at the same time and essentially ruining the match in the process!

[Update]: The developers have now released ~13 minutes of pure gameplay footage. Perfect if you're still unsure about The Surge 2!
As announced relatively recently, the Souls-inspired The Surge 2 will be coming this September 24th for PC and consoles. Much like its predecessor, The Surge 2 will focus on skill-based combat against enemies that can easily dismantle you, customization through both weapons and changes to your exo-suit, and naturally, the exploration of a massive world riddled with both dangers and loot.
If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, wonder no more as the developers have now shared a rather lengthy preview. Have a look, it's a pretty informative one:

If you're looking for an excuse to escape the summer heat, you might be interested to hear that Steam's massive Summer Sale has now arrived. The whole thing will last until July 9th, so even if you're currently unsure of what to grab, you should have plenty of time to figure things out.
Much like some of the earlier Steam sales, the current Summer Sale has a bit of a gimmick associated with it. Simply put, you can join and support one of the 'racing' teams in order to have a chance to receive the top item from your wishlist. The odds aren't exactly amazing given Steam's userbase, but since it doesn't cost you anything to enter, I'd say it's still worth checking out. Who knows, you might just get lucky!

[Update]: Gwent's newest expansion, Merchants of Ofir, has now landed with an additional 70 cards!
After a small teaser, Gwent's second major expansion "Novigrad" has now finally arrived in full. In terms of major features, it brings with it a whole bunch of new cards to play around with, a brand new faction called The Syndicate, as well as its five new and rather interesting leaders to experiment with: Whoreson Junior, Cyrus Hemmelfart, King of Beggars, Gudrun Bjornsdottir, and Cleaver.
Naturally, the Novigrad expansion has also added a couple of new features and quality-of-life changes to spice things up. The most exciting one out of the bunch, at least as far as the gameplay experience is concerned, is that special cards will now produce a distinct sound effect when played, which should help make them feel just a bit more fun to slam onto the game board!

[Update #2]: Apex Legends' Season 2 update has now arrived, and so far it's pretty good!
[Update]: Respawn has now detailed their plans for the upcoming Weekly and Daily Challenges.
Apex Legends' Season 2 will be coming this July 2nd, bringing with it a whole bunch of new content to play around with. You can expect to see a defense-focused legend by the name of Wattson, a whole host of new cosmetics and animations to collect, as well as fixes for some of the most egregious bugs.
There will also be a brand new Battle Pass with its own weekly and daily challenges, a plethora of new skins to toy around with, as well as a brand new L-STAR rifle to never receive from Supply Drops. Perhaps most importantly, at least as far as moment-to-moment gameplay goes, the various beasties from the Titanfall universe will rampage across Kings Canyon and greatly alter the landscape!

[Update]: The Rise of Azshara patch has now finally arrived!
World of Warcraft's Patch 8.2, Rise of Azshara, is set to arrive this June 25th. It'll bring with it a reworked Heart of Azeroth, a variety of new profession items to toy around with, a brand new raid, and perhaps most importantly of all, two fairly large new zones to explore: Nazjatar and Mechagon.
Given that Mechagon has only recently been introduced, you might be wondering what exactly is happening over there, as well as what the Mechagnomes (next most likely Allied Race) are going to be like. Well, wonder no more as Blizzard has now released a short comic detailing exactly that!
