Total War: Warhammer 2 official artwork for Gor-Rok

[Update]: The Hunter & The Beast, as well as its accompanying free update, have now arrived in force!

Total War: Warhammer 2 will be getting The Hunter & The Beast DLC this September 11th, which will bring with it a whole host of new toys to play around with for both the Empire and Lizardmen. Expect to see two new Legendary Lords, a variety of new units, new regiments of renown, as well as new campaign mechanics for both factions.

Besides the paid DLC, September 11th will also mark the arrival of a massive free update. The Empire will be getting its long-awaited rework and will now actually be able to summon the Elector Counts, while the Lizardmen will get an extremely powerful (and free) new Legendary lord - Gor-Rok, the Great White Lizard.

The Surge 2 player character with a giant sword

Action-RPG The Surge 2 is set to arrive this September 24th for both PC and consoles. You can expect to see a whole bunch of Dark Souls inspired action, a much wider and interesting world to explore when compared to its predecessor, as well as plenty of weapons and customization options to help you tear murder-bots and other monstrosities limb from limb.

Since words alone aren't really good enough when it comes to describing an action-RPG, I'm happy to say that the developers have now released 13 minutes of pure gameplay. So if you're wondering just what The Surge 2 has to offer, you'll find your answers right below:

After an extremely slow and barren Season 1, it would appear that Respawn has come better prepared for Season 2. Just last month we've had an Octane themed event alongside a bunch of new cosmetics, and already we're getting the same sort of treatment, just with a bit of a Wraith flair to it.

Much like the Octane event, the Voidwalker update has redesigned an area to highlight some of Wraith's story, as well as to make a previously boring part of the map just a little bit more exciting. And thankfully, the new rework has managed to do just that by adding some lovely in-door areas to fight in, as well as a giant portal to fling yourself through!

[Update]: Blizzard is now getting ready to entirely remove the layering system.

In order to avoid having half-empty servers later on, as well as to combat the initially massive influx of players, Blizzard implemented a layering system for World of Warcraft: Classic. Essentially, it's like having mini-servers within each server.

While the layering system has done its job admirably by making WoW Classic actually playable during its launch week, there have been a couple of problems as well. Most notably, some players have been using layering to search for rare monsters and loot, potentially doubling or even tripling the amount of items they'd normally be able to farm.

I have to give credit where credit is due, Ubisoft does not take the PC versions of their games lightly. Even when it comes to simply listing the system requirements, they tend to go above and beyond what is actually required of them.

As such, it probably won't come as much of a surprise to hear that the PC system requirements for the upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint cover everything on the spectrum from "barely playable" to "all sliders to the right, please." In other words, here's what you'll need to run Ghost Recon Breakpoint at certain settings:

[Update]: Greedfall devs are now working on Steelrising - a robot-fueled take on the French Revolution!

Greedfall is an upcoming story-focused RPG from Spiders, the developers behind Of Orcs and Men, Bound By flame and The Technomancer. As a diplomat in a foreign land, your role will be to solve the endlessly brewing conflicts between the various factions, as well as to hopefully figure out just what in the world is happening in this strange new region.

You can get a little bit of an idea of what this entails, as well as what sort of factions you can expect to see, through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a short but interesting one:

[Update]: WoW Classic devs have now also addressed some of concerns about the layering system.

When WoW Classic's character creation and name reservation first launched, only a couple of servers were available in each region. This was especially painful in Europe as both of our English PvP servers ended up with constant six hour queue times due to the overflowing number of players.

In order to address this problem Blizzard soon released dozens of new servers, but due to a combination of inertion and human psychology, that did little to convince people from overpopulated servers to ditch their reserved names and start somewhere new. As such, when WoW Classic finally launched, a large amount of players continued to endure lengthy queue times in order to get into the most popular servers, all the while the rest of the medium-high servers enjoyed basically no queues at all.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair official artwork and logo

[Update]: Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair now has a free demo available on PC.

After taking a crack at a 3D collectathon, Yooka-Laylee developers are now taking things even further back by working on a 2.5D action-platformer. The upcoming Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is seemingly heavily influenced by Donkey Kong games and will feature both 2.5D levels and a 3D overworld riddled with "secrets and surprises."

Much like Yooka-Laylee itself, the Impossible Lair will have a wide variety of Tonics that can be used to change up the gameplay or simply mess around with the visuals. There are going to be more than sixty of these Tonics to unlock, so whatever your tastes might be, chances are you'll find a couple that are right up your alley.

[Update]: Blizzard is bringing back Open Queue as an alternative competitive mode.

In order to catch any potentially disastrous problems, Blizzard released Overwatch's long-awaited Role Queue into beta testing as a part of a mini competitive season. Despite some issues towards the end of the beta test, the Role Queue system appears to have been a huge success as Blizzard has now implemented it in full!

So whether you're a fan of Competitive of Quick Play, you'll be glad to hear that the days of 4DPS teams have now come to an end. Moving forward, all Competitive and Quick Play games will feature two supports, two tanks and two DPS heroes. Best of all, each role will have its own matchmaking rating, so regardless of what skill level you end up playing at, you're pretty much guaranteed to have people that are just as competent.

[Update]: Project Resistance has been announced as an asymmetrical 4v1 multiplayer game.

Outside of their fighting game division, Capcom has been absolutely spectacular these past few years. Devil May Cry 5 ended up greatly exceeding expectations, Monster Hunter: World was a genuinely impressive step forward and the Iceborne expansion is looking even better, while both Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 Remake did much to redeem the series in the eyes of fans, especially after the disappointment that was Resident Evil 6.

As such, I am extremely happy to announce that Capcom will be revealing a brand new Resident Evil game on September 9th! What exactly this game might be, nobody knows just yet, but it's current code name is "Project REsistance."
