After going through a brief round of testing, Ubisoft's neon-colored battle royale Hyper Scape is now almost ready for launch. You can expect to see it's very first season arrive this August 11th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 alongside a couple of new additions and a 100 tier Battle Pass.
When it comes to the actual gameplay, Hyper Scape offers a couple of twists on the usual battle royale formula. So once you land into the virtual city of Neo Arcadia, you'll need to scatter across the map in order to collect not only an assortment of weapons, but also abilities that range from setting up massive walls to doing superhero landings with appropriately ridiculous shockwaves.

The Humble Store is currently running a bit of a sale, and in order to get as many eyeballs on it as possible, has now launched a small giveaway as well. So if you're in the mood for some racing action, simply head on over to the Humble website and you'll be able to grab F1 2018 for free.
Naturally, there is a bit of a catch. The giveaway will only be around for another two and a half days, or while supplies last, so you might want to snatch yourself a copy sooner rather than later, just to be on the safe side.

[Update #2]: Blizzard is finally taking a serious look at reversing the rampant power creep in Overwatch!
[Update]: The experimental update has now gone live, though not without some notable changes.
While Blizzard has tried to address it time and time again, there is no denying that stacking up shields is still an incredibly effective strategy, especially when tanks like Orisa and Sigma can continue to fire while holding their shields. So in order to try to correct this once and for all, as well as spice up the meta as a whole, Blizzard has now brought in a brand new experimental update.
Brigitte, Orisa and Sigma have undergone some rather serious nerfs, while Symmetra, Zenyatta and Roadhog have gained a couple of buffs to help them out. Most surprisingly of all, Pharah has also received a rather peculiar rework to her flying mechanics! Here are the actual details:

[Update]: Total War: Troy has been unleashed, and it is indeed entirely free to grab for the first 24 hours!
Instead of sticking to Steam like the rest of the series, Total War: Troy will be launching exclusively for the Epic Games Store this August 13th. The Steam version, as is often the case with these kinds of deals, will be arriving a year later once the exclusivity period has gone by.
While that might be a bit controversial, I do have one bit of purely positive news - Total War: Try will be entirely free to grab for 24 hours after launch! So whether you're a fan of Total War games and interested in seeing what Troy does differently, or a complete newcomer to the series, I'd still highly recommend taking Creative Assembly up on their offer and getting Troy free of charge!

[Update #2]: The newest Season 6 preview is all about Rampart and her abilities, and as expected, she's looking like a bit of a controversial addition given her shields and mountable turret.
[Update]: Rampart now has a brand new cinematic short setting up her backstory.
If you're itching for some more Apex Legends content, you'll be happy to hear that Season 6 - Boosted is set to arrive this August 18th. It'll bring with it Rampart as a brand new and heavy-weapons focused Legend, a devastating energy SMG called Volt, as well as the ability to craft your own gear by collecting materials throughout the map.
Naturally, there will also be a fancy new Battle Pass containing the usual 100 new items, as well as a minty fresh new ranked season to endlessly stress about. Sadly, while I would love to tell you the actual details behind all of this new stuff, I'm afraid nothing has been revealed just yet.

[Update]: Serious Sam 4 has now exploded its way onto PC and Google Stadia.
Much like a good portion of games releasing throughout this year, Serious Sam 4 has now unfortunately been delayed. Instead of launching this August, you can expect Serious Sam 4 and its hordes of mindless (and occasionally even headless) monsters to land onto PC on September 24, 2020.
When it comes to the console versions, nothing new has been announced just yet. So unless there are even more delays awaiting in the near future, Serious Sam 4 will also make its way to Xbox and PlayStation at some point in early 2021.

[Update #2]: Hearthstone's next expansion is improving the rewards, adding a new mode and plenty of new cards.
[Update]: Hearthstone's next Battlegrounds update will removed both Arcane Cannon and Gentle Megasaur.
After quite a few previews and teasers, Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy expansion has now finally been unleashed. It brings with it an assortment of neutral, class and dual-class cards, the Spellburst keyword that activates once you cast a spell, and naturally, a whole bunch of magical nonsense to toy around with.
Since the cards themselves are by far the most important part of this update, you can find the full list and their accompanying effects over at the official website. There's quite a few to browse through, so if you're planning to dive in, you might want to grab a cup of coffee beforehand. Either way, there's certainly some insanely powerful combinations and cards in there, cards that I have no doubt will end up on the chopping block in the near future!

[Update #2]: Microsoft Flight Simulator's first major update will be further fleshing out Japan.
[Update]: Microsoft Flight Simulator has now landed onto Steam, the Windows Store and Game Pass!
If you're looking forward to soaring across the virtual skies, then you'll be glad to hear that Microsoft Flight Simulator will be landing this August 18th onto PC. Much like the Halo games that have come before it, Microsoft Flight Simulator will be coming to not only the Windows Store and Game Pass, but Steam as well!
The good news doesn't end there, however, as the recent developer update has also revealed that Microsoft Flight Simulator will support TrackIR and VR! TrackIR support will be there from day one, while VR support will be launching later this year alongside the HP Reverb G2.

[Update #2]: World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion has been pinned for an October 2020 release date!
[Update]: The Shadowlands pre-patch has landed onto the public test servers alongside the leveling rework, class changes and new event!
As you're likely well aware, World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion will bring with it a comprehensive rework of the leveling process. Not only will you be able to freely choose which expansions and zones you'll adventure through, but the whole ordeal will be significantly faster than it currently is.
While this is certainly a positive change, the newly increased leveling speed does leave Heirlooms (account-bound items that increase experience gain) in a bit of an awkward spot. So in order to find them a more interesting niche, as well as to stop them from essentially being mandatory, Blizzard has now announced that they are planning to have Heirlooms feature set bonuses in Shadowlands.

[Update #2]: Horizon Zero Dawn devs are working on fixing the numerous issues with the PC port.
[Update]: Horizon Zero Dawn has now landed onto PC, though not without serious technical issues.
If action-RPGs are your bread and butter, you'll be glad to hear that the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn is just around the corner. You can expect to see it arrive this August 7th alongside all of the DLC and a variety of graphical improvements.
Besides the usual support for uncapped framerates and ultra-wide resolutions, the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn will also come with dynamic foliage, improved reflections, and a whole host of other graphical settings to tweak. Best of all, it'll arrive with a rather handy benchmarking tool that should give you a pretty good idea of just how far you can push your rig.
