Factorio is a great indie building and management sim

[Update]: After nearly a decade in development, Factorio has now finally been released!

Factorio is a game with a simple concept but almost infinite complexity as it tasks you with thinking up and creating fully-automated factories in order to produce increasingly more difficult items.

After being in development for over four years and selling an impressive 110,000 copies Factorio is finally ready to make the big step in to Steam Early Access. Here's the two year old trailer that managed to convince me that Factorio is in fact amazing:

STRAFE has a new exciting trailer

STRAFE is a very eccentric procedurally generated first person shooter that models its gameplay, graphics and atmosphere after the classic FPS games of 1996: Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Strife and obviously the awe-inspiring Chex Quest.

It first appeared in the public's eye back in 2015 when the developers Pixel Titans launched a (successful) Kickstarter campaign along with with possibly one of the best video game trailers. And now, after a short absence the developers have unleashed another amazing trailer upon the world, not quite on the level of the previous one but still special in its own way:

Pinstripe is an adventure game about a minister in hell

Launching a Kickstarter is not an easy thing these days, especially if you're an indie developer, so to see a game get almost twice the requested amount in only two days is a curious sight indeed.

The game in question is Pinstripe, a bizarre but stylish action adventure made entirely by a single man, everything from the graphics to the gameplay and even sound. Here's the Kickstarter trailer that managed to convince so many to join in on the project:

Gurgamoth is a local co-op 2D fighting game

Have you ever wanted to engage in mortal combat with your friends in order to earn the favor of an uncaring and bloodthirsty elder god?

If the answer is yes you should probably seek out help, but before you go I would like to bring your attention to Gurgamoth - a local multiplayer brawler where the ultimate goal is to sacrifice your friends. Here's the trailer so you don't think I'm making all of this up:

Indie atmospheric horror Downfall is now on Steam

The Cat Lady was one of the strangest and most intriguing games I've played back in 2012. I started it up expecting a run-of-the-mill horror adventure game but rather than jump scares The Cat Lady dealt with topics such as death, suicide and the general feeling of hopelessness in a serious, mature and very compelling way.

So you can imagine my surprise when I recently realized that Downfall, in many ways a spiritual successor to The Cat Lady, has released on Steam with purely positive reviews. Here's the trailer so you can get a good whiff of the atmosphere present in Downfall:

Overfall is a turn based RPG releasing in Early Access this March

Overfall is an upcoming turn based strategy game with a healthy dose of rogue-like and RPG elements mixed in. You will have  to travel across a large world, recruit companions and deal with conflicts and issues that pop up through whichever means necessary, be that violence, dipolomacy, trickery or otherwise in order to complete your all-important quest.

After going through a successful Kickstarter campaign Overfall is now getting ready to launch in Steam Early Access this March 1st with the core gameplay fully complete. Speaking of gameplay, here's a trailer showcasing it:

The Ship: Remasted is coming to Early Access this February 15th

The Ship: Remasted is an enhanced version of the popular murder-simulator The Ship: Murder Party where through cunning, stealth and a good dose of absurdity you need to make sure your target is no more while avoiding the same fate yourself. In essence it is a more complex, and a lot funnier, version of Assassin's Creed multiplayer.

After a good bit of internal testing The Ship: Remasted is ready to dock in to Early Access tomorrow, February 15th, though keep in mind its still quite unfinished. Here's the teaser trailer and information on what the developers plan to do in the coming months:

Democracy 3's Africa expansion has been announced

[Update]: After nearly two years in Steam Early Access, Democracy 4 has now been released in full.

I'm sure that at some point in your life, most likely while showering, you thought how easy politicians must have it and how quickly you could fix up the country if you were in charge. Well, if you would like to put your theories up to the test then look no further than Democracy 3, a turn based political strategy game that grants you full control of all branches of government and expects you to deal with realistic issues and consequences for each and every action.

So far Democracy 3 mostly dealt with rather stable first world countries but how does the same concept work when you apply it to politically divided and potentially even unstable ones. This is the sort of question that gave birth to Democracy 3's stand-alone expansion Africa which, as you might guess, allows you to take control of various nations on the African continent and run them in to the ground through incompetence bring them to prosperity through clever policy making.

Here's a developer video briefly going over the its development and a bit more information on the game itself:

Heaven's Hope is an upcoming 2.5D point & click adventure

Despite trying to enjoy playing point & click adventure games for the better part of my life I could never get in to them, the combination of moon-logic and difficult puzzles proving too much for my FPS-addled mind. Ironically, I still enjoy them as a concept and like to keep up with interesting upcoming ones.

One such game is Heaven's Hope, a 2.5D point & click adventure game where you play as an Angel who has fallen down from Heaven and now needs to find his way back while avoiding the clutches of the maniacal inquisition. Here's the trailer and a bit more information:

Five Nights at Freddy's RPG FNaF world is currently free

I have to hand it to Scott, creator of the FNaF series, when he said he's going to make it up to people because of how unfinished FNaF World was he truly meant it.

After being pulled from Steam a couple of weeks ago the Five Nights at Freddy's themed RPG FNaF World is now available for free on Gamejolt in a beta state. Here's the trailer so you can get a better idea of what sort of madness FNaF World is up to:
