Witcher 3 HD Texture Mod Does Wonders For The Graphics

With the post-Christmas lull in full effect and nothing of importance happening I opted to use a bit of my time and see what mods to grab for a new playthrough of The Witcher 3.
And as luck would have it the most popular HD texture mod, The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project by Halk Hogan PL, recently got a major update that makes the open world of the Witcher 3 even prettier so I felt I should showcase it to you if you don't frequent modding sites yourself.

Now that all of the recent Steam issues have been properly fixed we can once more focus on what's really important, buying more games than we could ever have enough free time to play!

Rise Of The Tomb Raider Is Coming To PC In January

Which makes me wonder why they even bothered with all of the shifty misdirection surrounding Rise of the Tomb Raider's PC version if they're just going to release it only two months after the Xbox versions.
Either way, according to the recently opened Steam store page the release for Rise of the Tomb Raider is set for January though no specific date or system requirements were given.
Upcoming Planetside 2 Update Will Add Base Building, Resource Harvesting, Better Balance And A Lot More

I've put in about 100-150 hours in to Planetside 2 since its release but throughout my playtime all I could feel is that SOE, the guys behind the game, had almost no idea what exactly they wanted to do with it. And so, despite loving the game, I ended up quitting because all I've seen were nerfs and terrible design decisions such as putting up 10 meter tall walls around every base so each fight took place in the same two corridors.
Thankfully, after SOE separated from Sony and created Daybreak Games there was quite a big reshuffling of staff and a lot of the old Planetside 2 bigwigs got swapped out with fresh faces who instantly got to work on fixing the issues years of negligence have caused.
Given what their recent test realm patch contains it seems they are far more in tune with the community than the old team ever was and for the first time in over year I'm excited for Planetside 2 again.

This article was supposed to come up yesterday but Steam decided to surprise everyone with an information leak for Christmas so the servers were down for a while.
The issues have now been fixed however and everything is more or less back to normal so here's my somewhat delayed, again, Steam sale recommendation list for December 25-26:
[Updated] Steam Servers Are Currently Bugged, Do NOT Purchase Anything Today

If any of you logged in to Steam in the past few hours you might have noticed that your account is now under a different name, perhaps even a language you can't speak.
Don't worry, you haven't actually been hacked nor has your account been changed. Steam servers are currently having some massive issues related to what I assume is storing user sessions so people are getting matched with wrong accounts.
Update: According to SteamDB the issue is indeed on Valve's end and the Steam service hasn't been hacked.
Update 2: Everything seems to be back to normal now.

I'm somewhat late with today's installment given the usual craziness that happens around Christmas. But now that everyone is properly comatose from obscene amounts of cake I have a bit of time to go over some really good Steam Deals.
There are no daily deals in this Winter Sale so no matter when you end up reading this, as long as its before January 4, the discounts will still be in effect. With that said, let's start:
