The Unseen History of Portal goes in-depth in to the development of Portal

As someone that got in to programming many years ago, primarily because video game design interests me so much, I'm always glad when a detailed look at the development process of a big game gets released online.

This time around its a video from Valve News Network (unrelated to Valve themselves) that digs deep in to the history of Portal and its development issues, triumphs and design challenges. Here's the video and if you're even remotely interested in how games are made I'd recommend you give it a look:

Devil Daggers is a stylish arena shooter

[Update]: Hyper Demon is a psychedelic and completely over-the-top FPS from the Devil Daggers team.

Devil Daggers is a fast paced arena shooter inspired by arcade and FPS games of old that pits you, along with some magical daggers, against hordes of unsettling demons.

Add to that a fluid and diverse movement system, a good range of attacks, difficult enemies and surprising amounts of mechanical depth and you've got yourself a small but very noteworthy game. Here's the trailer and a bit more information:

The Ship: Remasted is now available on Steam Early Access

The nautical murder simulator The Ship: Remasted was supposed to arrive last week but was instead delayed in order to add online multiplayer capability, a rather important factor to multiplayer games these days, I think you would agree.

After only five and a half days since that delay, The Ship: Remasted developers have announced that online multiplayer capability is now available and that The Ship has sailed in to Early Access. Here's the teaser trailer and a bit more information on the game itself:

Killer Instinct Season 3 is bringing improved graphics, three new maps and Arbiter as a character

As a part of their efforts to port Killer Instinct to Windows 10 the developers have managed to not only improve the graphics but also completely rework the lighting engine so that the stages look far, far superior than their previous iterations.

All of this information comes from an interview Ultra-Combo did with Killer Instinct's art director, Chad Green. If you're interested in a developer's perspective on Killer Instinct I'd recommend you give it a read because I will only highlight a few choice quotes:

I'm a big fan of all things Warhammer so see a potentially interesting game came out of the license is an exciting prospect, even though I'm not really sold on the whole digital board game business
