[Update]: If you're in a retro FPS mood, it's well worth mentioning that the Blood inspired Cultic has now landed onto Steam alongside some highly positive reviews.

If oldschool FPS games are your jam, boy do I have a treat for you! Rise of the Triad, a true classic that has already been enjoying a small resurgence, is now not only getting an HD remaster, but also a fair bit of new content as well!

Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition will bring with it all of the original Rise of the Triad episodes and expansion packs, support for 4K and ultrawide resolutions, uncapped framerate, along with improved art and cutscenes. And just in case one soundtrack isn't enough, the Ludicrous Edition will also come with both the original and the reboot's scores.

[Update #2]: And some bad news too! Broken Roads has been delayed until early 2024 in order to ensure it launches as well polished as it can be.

[Update]: Good news! Broken Roads will be heading over to PC and Xbox on November 14, 2023!

Inspired by oldschool classics like Fallout and Baldur's Gate, as well as more modern games like Disco Elysium, the upcoming Broken Roads is a heavily story-focused RPG set in a post-apocalyptic version of Australia. As you might imagine given its influences, Broken Roads will have you chat up a variety of unique characters, undertake quests that can be solved in different ways depending on your character's philosophical leanings, explore a hand-crafted world in search of secrets or good ol' fashioned loot, and naturally, fight against all sorts of enemies in turn-based combat.

What all of this looks like in action, as well as what sort of atmosphere Broken Roads is going for, that you can find out through the recent gameplay trailer. Have a gander:

Artwork and logo for the engineering sandbox game about building robots - Plasma

If the idea of building and tinkering with more and more elaborate robots sounds like a pleasant way to spend an evening, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Plasma. It's an engineering sandbox game that's all about carefully constructing machines out of a variety of customizable parts, and then using very basic 'programming' tools to control their behavior in order to do silly things.

What this looks like in actual gameplay, as well as what kind of robot you'll even be able to create, that you can find out through the freshly posted reveal trailer. Have a gander:

Suikoden I&II HD Remaster official screenshot of a moonlit cave

In announcement that came seemingly out of nowhere, Konami has just revealed that they are working on an HD remaster of two classic JRPGs - Suikoden I and II. Besides an absurdly long title, Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will bring with it improved background illustrations, enhanced special effects, as well as an assortment of new environmental sounds to help with immersion.

You can also expect to see the ability to fast forward in battles, an auto-save feature to help prevent any sort of costly mistakes, along with a conversation log to better keep track of things. What all of this looks like in action, however, that you can get a little bit of a sneak peek at through the trailer below. Have a gander:

Sins of a Solar Empire 2 massive 4x strategy game artwork and logo

It took nearly fifteen years for us to get there, but the highly ambitious 4X strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire is now finally getting a chunky new sequel. The appropriately titled Sins of a Solar Empire 2 will once again bring with it three unique factions, though the differences between them will be far greater than before as each one will come with a variety of special gameplay mechanics, new and reimagined units, extensive tech trees, and even a bunch of sub-factions.

Similarly, the combat side of things will be instantly familiar to veterans, though once again there will be a plethora of new features, mechanics and customization options to play around with in order to get the edge over your opponents. The details are unfortunately still shrouded in mystery, but what I can tell you is that Sins of a Solar Empire 2 will support multiplayer matches with up to ten human or AI players, along with the ability to seamlessly join games in progress as well as save things once you all need a break.

Combustion indie action-RPG artwork showing off the cat detective

3D Realms have just announced a whole bunch of new games, and the one that caught my eye the most is Combustion. To put it simply, if such a thing is even possible, Combustion is a noir action-RPG starring a hard-boiled cat detective in a world heavily reminiscent of the original PlayStation classics. Yeah... there's a lot to unwrap here!

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. It'll hopefully give you a much clearer picture of just what Combustion is trying to do. Have a peek:

[Update]: Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection has now landed onto PC, though sadly alongside some technical troubles.

After a whole bunch of rumors and teasers, the PC version of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection has now finally received an actual release date. You can expect to see it arrive via Steam and Epic Games Store on October 19th, 2022.

While the name might imply that the collection brings with it the entire Uncharted series, it's actually just the remastered versions of the latest two games: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and its standalone expansion Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. It's still a fair bit of content to go through so length is by no means an issue, but I just wanted to make this nice and clear.
