Warhammer 40,000: Darktide artwork of the main characters and the logo

[Update #2]: My review for Darktide is now live and, long story short, it's as rough and fascinating as the world it takes place in!

[Update]: I have a few bits of good news to share! First of all, Fatshark has released a fancy new cinematic trailer for Darktide showing off the world and the fate of the fan-favorite Guardsmen squad. Furthermore, there's going to be a pre-launch beta starting on November 17th, and last but not least, Vermintide veterans will be getting a small cosmetic DLC as a gift.

If you were hoping to get your hands on Warhammer 40,000: Darktide this September, I'm afraid I bring some bad news. According to the newest developer update, Darktide has now been delayed until November 30th for PC, while the Xbox version will follow shortly after.

"Delaying a game is perhaps one of the most difficult decisions a developer faces and one we are not excited about making," explains the announcement. "While we have been humbled by the great feedback on the game so far, we also need more time to improve stability, performance and to mature key systems. Each is critical to making sure we have the best possible experience for you, the players."

"Soon we will start a series of technical tests and betas in advance of our launch, to ensure we deliver the best version of the game. If you'd like to participate, you can sign up for a chance at [the Darktide website]."

Considering how Vermintide 2 launched with some fairly annoying bugs that took a couple of weeks to sort out, I definitely won't complain about Darktide spending a bit more time in the oven. After all, Darktide is likely to be updated and expanded for many years to come, so an extra two months really isn't all that much in the grand scheme of things.

Whatever your thoughts on the matter may be, I'll make sure to let you know once the first beta event goes live. Until then, you can read a little bit more about Darktide and its future over at Steam. Enjoy!
