Planetary Annihilation Legion brings in a brand new faction

If you ever needed an example of why including mod support is an excellent idea, this massive community expansion for Planetary Annihilation would be it.

After a year and a half in development the Legion has now arrived with over a hundred new units in order to create a brand new and unique faction that's just as complex, and deep as the original. Here's the brief trailer showcasing the Legion in action:

DayZ update 0.60 has added the Direct X 11 renderer

After months and months of development the new Direct X 11 renderer has arrived to DayZ, though currently only through the experimental 0.60 update.

While its quite possible you will experience some issues and bugs in the current version, the new renderer brings with it a massive improvement to the average FPS in some of the most demanding areas of the game, greatly improved environmental effects such as rain, an update to the shadow and lighting system, and other such small features that make for a better, more compelling experience.

Here's one of the relatively recent developer videos showcasing the improved performance and graphics in action:

Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD are coming to Steam

This rumor is by no means new as it first appeared way back in December 2015 when a leak pointed at Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD coming to Steam alongside Danganronpa, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.

As you might know, all of the games on that list besides Final Fantasy X/X-2 have already been released on Steam, and if that wasn't confirmation enough, the Steam Database entry for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD has been updated yesterday. Here's a screenshot just in case the entry goes in to private mode:

Titalfall developers are working on a third-person Star Wars game

Stig Asmussen, Game Director at Respawn Entertainment, announced today that the studio is working on a brand new Star Wars game that aims to be respectful and faithful to the legacy at all times.

While very little is known about the actual game, Asmussen did reveal that it will be a third-person action/adventure set in the Star Wars universe, and given that Titanfall 2 features giant mechs with swords I'm hoping this means the technology for some amazing lightsaber fights will be easy to come by.

Valve Has Updated The Steam Review System To Better Showcase Recent Reviews

By Ash

Steam Review Policy has been updated

As those of you that take the time and effort to write Steam reviews most likely realized, its incredibly hard for new reviews to push their way to the top, or even show up in the list of most helpful reviews, thus making the whole thing almost pointless for long-lasting games that have underwent numerous changes since the first reviews were posted.

Thankfully, with Valve's recent update the Steam review system is now in a much better shape as it displays both an overall rating, as well as a 30 day average, and newly posted reviews no longer get buried in the landslide of old ones.
