After being leaked not once, not even twice, but three times now, the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster has finally been officially confirmed for PC and Steam.

And in standard Square Enix fashion its being released in only a couple of days time, May 12 to be specific, without even a single bit of marketing, or even a tweet to let the world know of its existence. With that mini-rant aside, here's one of the recent trailers showcasing all of the graphical improvements and fancy new features that come with the remastered version:

The Steam storefront description is unfortunately lacking in actual information, but if the X/X-2 HD Remaster is of the same quality as the recent console version, you should expect it to run at 60 FPS in 1080p without much trouble.

If you're up for some more good news, the Final Fantasy XV director stated that he and his team are very enthusiastic about porting the game over to PC, though they won't be looking into that until the console version is finally ready for release. Best of all, if the PC version does happen it won't be a simple port, but rather an improvement in almost every sense, so there's something to look forward to if it ever comes to fruition.
