If you've finished Far Cry 5 and found yourself thinking you could go for a second serving, you might be interested to hear that the spin-off game Far Cry New Dawn has now arrived for both PC and consoles. It takes place seventeen years after Far Cry 5's fairly controversial ending, and much like its predecessor, involves you running all over a giant open world in order to recruit allies and fight against hordes of easily-disposable bad guys.

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in gameplay terms, as well as how Far Cry New Dawn differentiates itself from Far Cry 5, in the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:

Overwatch devs appear to be teasing a brand new hero called Jean-Baptiste Augustin

[Update]: Overwatch's 30th hero Baptiste has now arrived onto the PTR alongside a rather massive balance update.

During one of the Blizzcon interviews Overwatch developers revealed that they have around five new heroes currently in development. Who exactly those heroes will be and what role they will fulfill, Blizzard obviously didn't specify. The only thing they did reveal back then was that Echo, the graceful robot you might remember from McCree's cinematic short, will not be one of the next few additions.

As for the rest of them, we might get some answers very soon as Blizzard has now begun teasing Overwatch's 30th hero. From the looks of things, the character in question will be a Talon support hero by the name of Jean-Baptiste Augustin.

If you're looking for a game to sink your teeth into, or just something to boost up your backlog, you might be interested to hear that Steam is currently running a sale on games published by Square Enix. While the discounts are pretty sizable across the board, there is one problem - the sale will end on February 25th. So if you're curious, do make sure to give it a look as soon as you can.

For those of you that have no idea what to grab, allow me to share some of my favorites, sticking mostly to older games as they are cheaper by a significant margin. Here's what I've come up with:

RAGE 2 will be making its way to PC and consoles this May 14th, bringing with it a noticeably different experience than its predecessor. It's still going to be a first-person shooter set in the dystopian future, though thankfully this future will be a lot more colorful and lively than in the original!

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, as well as what RAGE 2's actual gameplay has to offer, you might be glad to hear that Bethesda has now released a lengthy preview. Have a look, it's quite an interesting video:

[Update #2]: Battlerite developers are working on a new open world vampire game - V Rising.

[Update]: Stunlock Studios have now mostly ceased development on Battlerite.

Battlerite Royale, as you might imagine from the name alone, combines Battlerite's skillshot-based gameplay with a wide-open world littered with items to loot, abilities to upgrade, and naturally, players to beat up. If that sounds like it's right up your alley, you might be interested to hear that Battlerite Royal has now not only released from Steam Early Access, but has gone fully free-to-play as well!

You can get a pretty good idea of what this looks like in gameplay terms, as well as what Battlerite Royale does to differentiate itself from the already overcrowded genre, in the launch trailer right below. Have a peek:

Guild Wars 2 is adding a brand new PvP-focused mount - the Warclaw

Guild Wars 2 screenshot of the new PvP mount Warclaw

While Guild Wars 2 has some of the most fun mounts around, they are unfortunately not available in PvP modes due to balance reasons. After all, any semblance of strategy would break down rather quickly if people were able to just fly over the battlefield and straight onto the objectives!

In order to avoid this problem, as well as give PvP players something fun to mess around with, ArenaNet has now announced a PvP focused mount by the name of Warclaw. As you would imagine from an extremely angry and oversized cat, Warclaw will be able to lunge at enemies, break down doors, as well as use its stamina meter to avoid attacks and move at a rapid pace. Here's how all of that will look like in-game:

Vermintide 2 update has now added exciting weekly events and the long-awaited paintings

By Ash

Vermintide 2 screenshot of a Dwarf Slayer fighting Chaos forces

Vermintide 2's deed system was originally conceived as a way to offer players an additional challenge, as well to make things more interesting by tweaking the usual gameplay formula. Unfortunately, deeds as a whole ended up being a bit of a disappointment. The rewards were rarely worth the effort, most of the mutators were boring or simply didn't offer enough of a challenge, and most problematic of all, you could only receive deeds through random chance.

With that in mind, I am very glad to say that Fatshark has now decided to give the concept another chance through the newly introduced Weekly Events. While the full list of events has not yet been announced, the very first one has been a resounding success so far. Basically, every time you kill an enemy, two weaker enemies will spawn in their place. And yes, this does include bosses! So if you're like me and you love cleaving through hordes upon hordes of enemies, this event is well worth checking out!
