Mortal Kombat 11 is set to arrive in about six weeks, and in order to give people a taste of what is to come, NetherRealm Studios have now launched a free weekend for Mortal Kombat X. So if you're curious about what exactly the Mortal Kombat series has to offer, as well as how ridiculously over-the-top the fatalities are, you should head on over to Steam and give it a try.
The one catch is that the free weekend will only last for a little over two days, so do make sure to start the download as quickly as possible if you want to get a decent amount of playtime in. As for what exactly the gameplay is like, here's one of the original trailers to help you figure it out:
Apex Legends update has nerfed the Wingman and Peacekeeper, as well as buffed the bigger characters

If you've been paying attention to the final few squads in Apex Legends, chances are you've seen a bit of a pattern: Wraith, Bangalore and Lifeline, all equipped with a Peacekeeper or Wingman, often even a combination both. Needless to say, Apex Legends currently has some balance issues to work through, especially when it comes to some of the chunkier characters as their enlarged hitbox makes them an easy target.
With that in mind, I am very happy to announce that Respawn has now released the very first balance update. Both the Wingman and Peacekeeper have been nerfed, while the hitboxes for Caustic, Pathfinder and Gibraltar will soon become a lot more accurate. You can find all of the details over at Reddit, but for now, allow me to share some of the most important changes:
Overwatch's newest Assault map Paris is now finally available in Competitive Play

After spending a fair bit of time on the PTR, Overwatch's newest Assault map Paris made its way to the live servers two weeks ago. In order to give everyone enough time to explore the map, as well as ensure the competitive mode doesn't erupt into chaos, Blizzard opted to make Paris initially available only in Quick Play and Arcade game modes.
The two-week wait is now over, however, and Paris has finally made its way to Competitive Play as well. Much like the last few map releases, I would highly recommend taking a little break from Competitive Play this week as it is likely to be a bit of a mess, especially since Paris is a chokepoint-heavy Assault map that requires a bit of finesse to actually complete.
Dead or Alive 6 has made its way to PC and consoles alongside somewhat mixed reviews

After being absent for quite a few years, the Dead or Alive series has now returned to both PC and consoles with Dead or Alive 6. It brings with it a new engine and improved visuals, visible damage on characters as the battle goes on, and perhaps most surprisingly given the series' history, the toning down of "jiggle physics" in favor of more interesting costumes.
If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, allow me to share with you one of the earlier trailers. I'd usually go for the more recent launch trailer, but it's unfortunately a bit of an incoherent mess, so here's the release date trailer instead:
Gwent's Crimson Curse expansion will be coming to PC and consoles in late March

After a fairly lengthy period of turmoil, CDPR unleashed the Homecoming update back in October and pretty much rebuilt Gwent from the ground up. While initial impressions weren't exactly great, CDPR stuck to their guns and slowly but surely brought Gwent into a rather nice position, both in terms of balance and design.
In order to improve things further, as well as give players more toys to mess around with, CDPR has now also announced a brand new expansion - Crimson Curse. While the name alone should clue you in on what exactly the Crimson Curse will be about, you can also find out in the recently posted teaser trailer down below. Have a peek, it's quite a fun video:
World of Warcraft's Kul Tiran Humans and Zandalari Trolls are finally coming next week

During the original Battle for Azeroth reveal, Blizzard announced that one of the Allied Races the Horde will get on launch will be the Zaldari Trolls. However, as development on Battle for Azeroth progressed, the Zandalari Trolls were replaced with Mag'har Orcs and delayed for an undetermined amount of time along with the Kul Tiran Humans. Many expected they would arrive with the first content update, but alas, the Tides of Vengeance patch came and went without either of the two races becoming available.
Thankfully, the extremely long wait will soon be over as Blizzard has now finally announced that Kul Tiran Humans and Zandalari Trolls are ready to go. So if you're eager to start a brand new character, make sure to put a pin on March 12th as that's when both of the new races will become available.
Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic expansion will add the Beastmen and a brand new game mode

[Update]: Fatshark has now released a lengthy developer update detailing their plans for the Winds of Magic expansion, as well as the future of Vermintide 2.
While its initial few months were riddled with problems, Vermintide 2 has slowly but surely transformed itself into a phenomenal game. The only real problem I have with it these days is that through the process of rebalancing weapons and making the enemies more consistent, Vermintide 2 has also become a bit too easy on the highest difficult setting.
With that in mind, I am delighted to say that Fatshark has now announced a brand new expansion - Winds of Magic! Not only will Winds of Magic bring with it a raised level cap and an even higher difficulty setting, but it will also add the Bestmen as an entirely new faction, as well as a variety of new weapons to toy around with.
