The Sinking City is a newly released and Lovecraft inspired adventure-investigation hybrid. As you might imagine from that brief description alone, The Sinking City is all about trying to figure out what sort of unearthly horrors have descended upon the world, all the while doing your very best to avoid going completely and utterly insane.

You can get a pretty good idea of the sort of atmosphere The Sinking City is going for through the recently posted cinematic trailer. Have a gander, it's certainly an interesting one, to say the least:

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr's 2.0 update has improved just about everything

As I mentioned in my review, the initial version of Inquisitor - Martyr was unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. It wasn't a bad game, mind you, but rather one where just about every awesome feature was immediately counterbalanced by something either clunky or annoying, and sometimes even both.

With that in mind, I am delighted to say that the developers have now released Patch 2.0 which has improved just about every single aspect of Inquisitor - Martyr! Leveling has been revamped, crafting is now instantaneous and less fiddly, there are a bunch of new end-game modes, the campaign is now fully playable in co-op, and the list goes on for a while.

After quite a few teasers, the PC version of Halo: Reach has now finally made its way into Closed Beta and is now actually playable by the general public. The bad news, as you might imagine given the early beta status, is that this initial public test will only have a very small amount of players involved.

On the positive side, the developers have now also released a lengthy gameplay preview showing off what Halo: Reach looks like on PC with maxed out settings! Have a look, it's certainly a fun video:

Prison Architect update has added a small but welcome batch of new content and fixes

Despite the 'totally final update' releasing quite a while ago, Prison Architect is still receiving a steady stream of updates. However, this new update has not been developed by the original Prison Architect team, but rather by Double Eleven who are responsible for the console version. So while the original team may have moved onto other projects, Prison Architect will continue onward!

As far as the new content is concerned, "The Clink" update is mostly centered around small improvements and quality-of-life changes. The list of new features isn't exactly long, so here it is in full:

If you're a fan of mini-games and hunting down a whole bunch of cosmetic items, you might want to check out Guild Wars 2's newly added Dragon Bash Festival as it's full of exactly that. You can fight against other players in the arena using special abilities, smash a whole bunch of dragon pinatas in a brand new adventure, race against your fellow players as a Moa bird, and naturally, stuff your face with so much virtual candy that your character can barely even move!

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in-game through the recently posted teaser trailer. Have a peek, and make sure to turn on the sound as there is a rather cheerful song playing throughout it:

Risk of Rain 2 official artwork and logo

[Update]: The Hidden Realms patch has now added Acrid as a new survivor, as well as a whole bunch of other content like bosses and extra zones.

For those of you looking for an excuse to take Risk of Rain 2 for another spin, you might be glad to hear that the very first major content update has now arrived! The aptly named Scorched Acres update brings with it a brand new stage to explore, a nasty new boss to fight against, and perhaps most importantly of all, a brand new Survivor by the name of REX!

There's also a new monster, the Clay Templar, as well as a new and highly dangerous elite to contend with - Malachite. These Malachites are so strong that they will only spawn late in a playthrough and come with a unique effect to help differentiate them from the rest. And a good thing too because the Malachites posses a variety of unique abilities they'll constantly pelt you with, including one that disables your healing!

[Update #3]: Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic expansion has now arrived for PC players. The console versions are still under development, though no release date has been announced just yet.

[Update #2]: Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic expansion is already playable for those that have pre-ordered!

[Update]: Fatshark has now released a lengthy developer update detailing their plans for the Winds of Magic expansion, as well as the future of Vermintide 2.

Vermintide 2's Winds of Magic expansion will be coming this August, bringing with it the savage Beastmen as a brand new faction. There will also be new weapons to experiment with, a higher level cap and all-new loot, as well as the titular Winds of Magic mode that will have you face off against ever-increasing challenges.

While not a part of the expansion itself, Winds of Magic will also bring with it a rather significant combat overhaul and hero rebalance. Dodging will be getting weaker, pushing enemies will be more effective with shields and heavy weapons, while almost every single hero talent is getting reworked in order to give players some actual choices.
